November 3-6, 2016  Groves Pecan Festival - Groves, Texas
Pecan cooking contest with appetizers, entrees, and desserts categories. Treasure hunt, parade, pecan toss, pet show and stick horse barrel racing.

November 4, 2016 - 11th Annual Katy Wine Fest - Katy, Texas
Wine Lovers and Foodies Unite for a Great Cause at the Annual Katy Wine Fest.  Showcase of New Wine Region and Area Restaurants to Benefit Disabled Adults.  Presented by the Cinco Ranch Rotary Club.  Guests can indulge in unlimited tastings of wines from South America as well as enjoy culinary bites from fantastic Katy-area restaurants.  All proceeds from the event benefit The Brookwood Community and its Center for Learning.  Guests can also enjoy musical entertainment, live and silent auctions and a raffle with amazing prizes.

The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors are hosting Taste of the Holidays, an eclectic culinary sampling and dining experience.

November 4-6, 2016  11th Edition of the Romanian Food Festival
Colleyville, Texas
A unique opportunity for Dallas locals to explore the Romanian culture and cuisine right in their backyard. Festival highlights include ethnic foods, traditional costumes, orthodox icons and impressionist paintings exhibits, movies about Romania, gymnastic shows, folk artifacts, decorations and other shopping options, live entertainment and lots of fun for adults and children as well (petting zoo, games, dancing, and more).

November 4-13, 2016  Wurstfest 2016 - New Braunfels, Texas
Annual celebration along the banks of the beautiful Comal River. Enjoy good fun, food, special events and Alpine and Bavarian style entertainment. Wurstfest always starts on the Friday before the first Monday in November.

November 6, 2016 - 23rd Annual World's Championship Shrimp Cook-Off
Port Isabel, Texas
The annual festival is a favorite among area residents and visitors and tests the skills of amateur and professional chefs from throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Contestants are judged on appearance, aroma, and taste of their specialty dishes. Samples are available to attendees at a modest fee.

December 3, 2016  Annual Tamales! Holiday Festival
San Antonio, Texas
An event centered around San Antonio Tradition with tamales, culture, music and fun for the whole family. With more than 40 different tamales vendors, a kid’s craft area, and live music and entertainment Tamales! is a celebration of family, food and fun that San Antonians have come to associate with the holidays.  We hope you will join us for the celebration 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Guests will enjoy live music and performances, activities for children, as well as delicacies from 40+ tamale makers.  The event is FREE and open to the public, no ticket necessary. Food and beverage prices range from $1.00 - $5.00 per vendor - ATMs available on site.

November 14, 2015  27th Heritage Syrup Festival - Henderson, Texas
The highlight of the festival revolves around a day of old time syrup making demonstrations, using an antique sugarcane crushing mill. The grounds of the Historic Depot Museum come alive with folk music and over thirty folk artists demonstrating and selling their crafts.

December 19, 2015  Mistletoe Market - Waco, Texas
A holiday shopping haven where twinkling lights set the festive mood. Bring the family and come on out and grab those one of a kind gift for everyone on your Christmas list. Houston, Texas
Houston's French-American Chamber of Commerce will kick off the holiday season with a celebration featuring wonderful French wine, gourmet food, and festive entertainment with a distinctively French flair.  The Beaujolais et Tapis Rouge” soiree is rolling out the red carpet at the Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel to welcome guests to a fun night of French culture.  Houston's French Americans will toast the Beaujolais Nouveau release while indulging in an exclusive dining experience. The area's best chefs serve up delicious bites from all over the city, celebrating the diversity of Houston's culinary scene.

November 16-17, 2013  6th Annual Austin Chocolate Festival 2013
Austin, Texas
The 7th Annual Austin Chocolate Festival will be held in 2015. We decided to take this year off because Jennifer is busy with her graduate program. Hope to see you next year.

November 8-11, 2012  Crystal City Spinach Festival - Crystal City, Texas
The annual festival celebrates Crystal City's claim as "Spinach Capital of the World". The family-oriented event includes a parade, free musical entertainment, a spinach cook-off, 5K run, custom car show, dance contests, arts & crafts, sports tournaments, pageant, and carnival. Be sure to visit Crystal City's statue of the famous spinach-loving sailor, Popeye. Attendance: 60,000.

December 4, 2011  Stephan Pyles Celebrity Chef Dinner - Dallas, Texas
Wine & Food Foundation of Texas. This event is a five-course, seated wine dinner with each course presented by a different celebrity chef. Proceeds from this dinner fund the Stephan Pyles Culinary Scholarship which is awarded through a rigorous statewide competition.
