February 8-10, 2013  Coffee Harvest Festival 2013 - Maricao, Puerto Rico
Maricao celebrates "la toma de cafe" every year. The festival takes place in the plaza town and features folkloric music, crafts displays, typical cuisine and demonstrations of coffee preparations.

February 8-10, 2013  Festival del Chapin 2013 - Naquabo, Puerto Rico
A festival featuring foods made using the traditional "chapín" (a local fish), a boat regatta and all kinds of contests.

February 14, 2013  Valentine's Day
Most of the more than 1/2 million restaurants in the U.S. have special events scheduled for today. They are too numerous to list.

February 15-17, 2013  Feria Agricola - Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico
This agricultural fair highlights the various crops produced in the area with plenty of music, exhibits and food kiosks.

March 4-8, 2013  National School Breakfast Week 2013 - Nationwide
National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) was launched in 1989 to raise awareness of the availability of the School Breakfast Program (SBP) to all children. Each year, the School Nutrition Association (SNA) helps schools to celebrate NSBW with a fun theme – this year it is School Breakfast--Go For The Gold.


March 8-9, 2013  Five Days with Our Land - Mayaguez, Puerto Rico
Cinco Días con Nuestra Tierra is an annual agricultural-industrial fair with product exhibits from large and small operations in the Island's western region.
 

 

March 8-9, 2013  Festival de la China Dulce - Las Marias, Puerto Rico
An orange festival with different orange recipes, arts and crafts exhibitions and typical music.

March 9, 2013  Maratón de la Chopa - Toa Alta, Puerto Rico
Chopa fishing competition. The chopa is a freshwater fish found at Río La Plata in Toa Alta.

April 4-7, 2013  Saborea Puerto Rico - San Juan, Puerto Rico
World famous Escambrón Beach is "center stage" for a weekend full of flavor and taste. Tastings from 60 of the islands finest restaurants, rums, wine, beer & distilled spirits with 40 international and local culinary personalities!

April 6-7, 2013  ExpoAlimentos 2013 - San Juan, Puerto Rico
The main international food exhibition for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean related to products, equipment, technology and services for the food and drinks industry.

April 13-14, 2013  El Festival del Pueblo del Tomate - Juyuya, Puerto Rico
This town is known as the "Pueblo del Tomate" (town of the tomatoes). This event is a celebration of the tomatoes and includes music, games and food kiosks.

April 19-21, 2013  Festival del Apio - Barranquitas, Puerto Rico
Celery festival and farmers' market with crafts and artisans.

April 22, 2013  Earth Day - Worldwide
The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed. Growing out of the first Earth Day, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with over 22,000 partners in 192 countries to broaden, diversify

May 25, 2013  Festival del Pescador - Fajardo, Puerto Rico
Fishing contests, troubadour contests, music by local groups, and food kiosks featuring foods from the sea.

May 31-June 2, 2013  Sugarcane Festival - Hatillo, Puerto Rico
A festival which highlights the traditional planting of sugar cane and its widespread use. Music, arts and parades are featured.

June 2, 2013  Festival del Guineo - Lares, Puerto Rico
Local festival that gives you a taste of the different foods and pastries made from bananas.

June 14-16, 2013  Fiesta Nacional del Mango - Mayaguez, Puerto Rico
This festival celebrates the mango with various recipe contests that use this fruit as an ingredient. There are exhibitions of varieties of mangoes, music by several bands, dance classes and more.

June 28-30, 2013  Feria Agricola de la Reserva del Valle - Lajas, Puerto Rico
This agricultural fair offers exhibits and sales of plants, animals, farm equipment and products. The festivities include music, food, a rodeo and a paso fino horse competition.

March 24-25, 2012  Taste of Rum - San Juan, Puerto Rico
Dedicated to promoting Puerto Rican high-end rums to the world, this is a first class event that features a chance to experience all the prominent Puerto Rican rums. You will also find great food from some of Puerto Rico's finest restaurants, live music, and a feast of Puerto Rican joyful energy, culinary and musical richness and culture!

August 25-26, 2012  Festival Jueyero (Crab Festival) - Maunabo, Puerto Rico
In addition to great food, there is a parade and, yes, a crab race.

September 1-2, 2012  Festival de la Pana - Humacao, Puerto Rico
A festival celebrating the breadfruit, with local music, folkloric dances, artisans, children's programs, foods and desserts made with breadfruit.

October 12-14, 2012  Festival del Chipe - Anasco, Puerto Rico
The chipe is a clam unique to the Añasco area.

October 19-21, 2012  Yuca Festival - Isabela, Puerto Rico
This festival features food made with the Yuca root, music and crafts.

October 20-21, 2012  National Plantain Festival - Corozal, Puerto Rico
Annual festivity during the plantain season. Plantains are starchy banana relatives used for cooking many typical Caribbean dishes. Exhibitions of local produce, dishes made with plantains. Over 60 artisans, crafts, paintings, music and dance.

November 16-18, 2012  Festival de los Platos Tipicos - Luguillo, Puerto Rico
A festival highlighting local dishes and beverages made with coconut. Local music, arts and crafts exhibits.

November 23-25, 2012  National Puerto Rican Pastel Festival - Orocovis, Puerto Rico
Culinary festival that honors the folkloric food of the Christmas season: the Puerto Rican Pastel. A three-day expo of a wide variety of pasteles, musical & dance performance, arts and culture. The pastel (similar to, but larger than, a tamale) was originated in the Taíno culture.

November 30-Dec 2, 2012  Carnaval Del Gandul - Villalba, Puerto Rico
Annual harvest festival with music, festival queen, parades and food.

Macabeo is a local fritter made from bananas. This cultural festival includes typical music, troubadour contests, artisans and food kiosks.

December 2-5, 2010  Old San Juan Sofo Culinary Fest - San Juan, Puerto Rico
More than 35 restaurants throughout the historic district take part in the Old San Juan Culinary Fest. In the background, musical and dance groups perform from a dozen stages being set up throughout Old San Juan, and strolling musicians serenade with traditional Island music.
