International Cake Exploration Societé (ICES), an organization comprised of over 3500 sugar artists, cake decorators and vendors from all over the world.
 

 

MARCH
March 1-3, 2013  25th Annual National Fiery-Foods & Barbecue Show
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Now in its 25th year, it’s the largest and most visited show about spicy foods and barbecue in the world. Held each March in Albuquerque, New Mexico, it features 200+ exhibitor booths filled with more than 1,000 different products. The show attracts more than 17,000 trade and general public attendees from all over the world.

March 4-8, 2013  National School Breakfast Week 2013 - Nationwide
National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) was launched in 1989 to raise awareness of the availability of the School Breakfast Program (SBP) to all children. Each year, the School Nutrition Association (SNA) helps schools to celebrate NSBW with a fun theme – this year it is School Breakfast--Go For The Gold.

March 19, 2013  'AgDay' National Agriculture Day - Nationwide
National Ag Day is a day to recognize and celebrate the abundance provided by agriculture. Every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless other across America join together to recognize the contributions of agriculture.

April 22, 2013  Earth Day - Worldwide
The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed. Growing out of the first Earth Day, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with over 22,000 partners in 192 countries to broaden, diversify and mobilize the environmental movement. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.

April 25-May 4, 2013  Albuquerque Beer Week - Albuquerque, New Mexico
This ten-day series of events brings the community together to celebrate great beers and the wonderful places in which we enjoy them. There is a little something for everyone to get excited about; new and existing beer lovers, foodies, and the unsuspecting general public will all love ABQ Beer Week as it promotes our bars, breweries and restaurants.

May 4, 2013  Albuquerque Blues & Brews - Albuquerque, New Mexico

May 25-27, 2013  Southern New Mexico Wine Festival - Las Cruces, New Mexico
21st Annual festival.  This oldest of our festival offerings kicks off the summer season. A crowd of over 12,000 makes the event an annual start to summer, tasting wines from around the state and learning, during hourly seminars, about wine and how to pair it with food. Live music, arts & crafts and a wide variety of agricultural products.

May 25-27, 2013  Albuquerque Wine Festival - Albuquerque, New Mexico
Located at the famous Balloon Fiesta grounds, the Albuquerque Wine Festival combines wines from around the state, arts and crafts, food, live music, and educational opportunities.
 

 

JUNE
June 7-8, 2013  River & Brews Blues Fest - Red River, New Mexico
Enjoy fantastic blues music, tasty BBQ and thirst quenching brews. The gorgeous venue for the event is nestled at the base of the Red River Ski Area.

June 15-16, 2013  10th Annual Fine Art & Wine Festival - Red River, New Mexico
This event features both silent and live auctions, fine art, pottery, photography, wine sampling, a progressive wine dinner, and live music.

June 28-29, 2013  Smokin' on the Pecos - Artesia, New Mexico
New Mexico State BBQ Championship.  Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned team competition for the serious competitor, Kids' Q, and Backyard BBQ categories, as well as entertainment, crafts exhibits, Roughstock Challenge mini rodeo for kids, and NM Centennial Shootout cowboy mounted shooting competition.

JULY
JULY 4, 2013 - There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

July 5-7, 2013  10th Annual Pork & Brew State BBQ Championship
Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Come out and enjoy this terrific family friendly event with live entertainment, arts and crafts, fun jumps, magic show, and of course plenty of award winning BBQ. Pork & Brew is a fully sanctioned Kansas City BBQ Society event and is one of the top 10 events on the Society calendar. With more than 20,000 in attendance last year, it has become one of the largest events in New Mexico.

OCTOBER
October 13, 2013  Local Food Festival and Field Day - Albuquerque, New Mexico
A celebration of food from the ground up, highlighting local food and agriculture in our region. The festival is organized by the MRCOG Agriculture Collaborative in partnership with a variety of local groups and organizations. The Food Festival will serve as the launch for Local Food Week, an event sponsored by Edible Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos. This means that the festival will be followed by a week of local food-related activities. - Workshops and lectures about canning and other food preservation techniques, gardening/farming, seed saving, curanderismo (folk healing), New Mexico's farming history and culture, and more! - Music, tastings, readings, and activities for kids

Larry Joe Taylor's "Hot Chili Days, Cool Mountain Nights" Music Festival & Cook-off, featuring the "Red River Red" CASI Chili Cook-off, the "New Mexico State Green Chile Championship," and a Lone Star BBQ Society Cook-off.

September 1-2, 2012  Hatch Chile Festival - Hatch, New Mexico
The 40th annual festival will include music, a parade, chile eating contests, fine art show, and rope and bullwhip show.

September 1-3, 2012  New Mexico Wine Festival at Bernalillo - Bernalillo, New Mexico
Lots of great music, arts and crafts, and those summer foods we all love make a perfect backdrop for wine, wine, wine!

September 1-3, 2012  2012 Harvest Wine Festival - Las Cruces, New Mexico
Join us in celebrating New Mexico's grape harvest with daily grape stompings, free wine tastings, live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, children's activities, hourly wine seminars and a great relaxed atmosphere!

September 14-23, 2012  New Mexico State Fair - Albuquerque, New Mexico
Highlights of the 73rd annual fair will include agricultural exhibits, livestock shows & demonstrations, concerts, competitions, carnival midway, and art.
 

 

September 26-30, 2012  22nd Annual Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta - Santa Fe, NM
An annual five-day weekend of events, bringing 90 national wineries to partner with 75 of Santa Fe's best restaurants. Cooking demos, wine seminars and more.

September 28-30, 2012  32nd Annual Whole Enchilada Fiesta - Las Cruces, New Mexico
The celebration of southern New Mexico’s traditions, people and great food is centered around the making of a huge enchilada. Entertainment, horseshoes, parade, 5K run and Enchilada Land for the kids. Attendance: 40,000.

October 6-7, 2012  Harvest Festival - Santa Fe, New Mexico
Celebrate the harvest during this annual festival at El Rancho de las Golondrinas, a living history museum dedicated to the heritage and culture of Spanish Colonial New Mexico. Learn to string chile ristras, crush wine grapes by foot and grind sorghum with the help of burros. Arts & crafts, music.

November 30-Dec 1, 2012  Carlsbad Winter Wine Festival - Carlsbad, New Mexico
A special weekend taking place during the annual Christmas on the Pecos with plenty of holiday arts, crafts, and entertainment.
