May 25-26, 2013 30th Annual Pungo Strawberry Festival
Virginia Beach, Virginia
Not only does the Festival have all the strawberries you can eat offered in over 50 different ways, activities include a pie eating contest, strawberry bake-off, continuous entertainment, a parade, large carnival, livestock show and sale, military display, pig races, youth art show, and arts & craft booths. Attendance: 120,000.
June 12, 2013 Virginia Pork Festival - Emporia, Virginia
The world's largest outdoor barbecue. Last year's event attracted over 15,000 people representing 32 different states. Attendance: 15,000.
July 13, 2013 Hanover Tomato Festival - Mechanicsville, Virginia
Come be a part of a Hanover Tradition that dates back 35 years. This signature Hanover County event, brings in folks from all over the East Coast. There will be tomato growing contests, arts & crafts, a variety of entertainment, food, and free activities for children of all ages. Attendance: 30,000.
