May 4-5, 2012 32nd Annual Strawberry Festival - Roanoke, Virginia This two-day family-oriented festival draws approximately 30,000 visitors to downtown Roanoke. In addition to delicious strawberry desserts, there are arts and craft vendors, children’s activities, and live entertainment. Attendance: 30,000.
May 5, 2012 Chinoteague Seafood Festival 2012 - Chinoteague, Virginia A spring seafood festival has been held here on Chincoteague Island for more than four decades. "Little Neck" clams, oysters, fish and a variety of sides will be featured the first Saturday in May at Tom's Cove Park from noon to 4 p.m. Beer may be purchased separately and soft drinks are included in the ticket price.

May 12, 2012 17th Annual Of Ale & History Microbrew & Imported Beer Tasting Festival Middletown, Virginia Come and celebrate Belle Grove Plantation's German and English heritage by sampling a great array of beers from the New and Old World, as well as delicious food by area restaurants. Beverages include a fine mix of European imports and innovative American microbrews, as well as a few domestic favorites. The historic house and landscape are open for touring throughout the festival, and the Potomac Rugby Union hosts a multi-club tournament on the front meadow.
