49th Annual Chitlin' Strut
Salley, South Carolina
This internationally known festival in the quiet, Southern town of Salley, South Carolina (population 398) is held annually the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Visitors converge on Salley to celebrate one of the more unusual food items available, chitterlings. Quite simply, chitterlings (or chitlin's) are fried pig intestines and have been a Southern tradition for over one-hundred years.
Attendance: 25,000.

Annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival 2015
Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina
80,000 pounds of Oysters - The Lowcountry Oyster Festival is the World’s Largest Oyster Festival and has been named one of the “top 20 events in the southeast” by Southeastern Tourism Society. Highlights include the legendary “Oyster Shucking” and “Oyster Eating” Contests, live music on the main stage, wine, a selection of domestic and imported beers, a Children’s Area complete with pony rides and jump castles and a “Food Court” showcasing a variety of local favorite restaurants to satisfy everyone’s taste.
