Sanctioned by the International Chili Society, the SC Chili Cook-off is one of the Southeast's fastest growing family events. Prizes for Red Chili, Chili Verde, Salsa, Peoples Choice and Showmanship. Proceeds benefit local charities.
April 19, 2014 11th Annual Soft Shell Crab Festival
Port Royal, South Carolina
Local restaurants will serve up varieties of soft shell crab in clever variations. If crab isn’t your thing, barbeque, burgers, ice cream, other seafood and more also will be available. Food vendors, artists and crafters; Children activities, live music and entertainment for individuals of all ages. Classic car show. Annual crab race where approximately 5,000 rubber crabs are “adopted” by festival attendees for $10 each. The crab will be dropped into Battery Creek at 5:00 pm and the owner of the crab to cross the finish line at the Observation Deck will receive a $2,000 cash prize.
