This two-day festival is a celebration of SC Wild Caught Shrimp, local food and fun in the Lowcountry. "Be ready to dance your shrimp tails off and come with an empty stomach” Local restaurants will put their unique spins on fresh local shrimp, available to attendees, and will compete for the “Best Shrimp Dish" and "Best Booth Decoration" voted by a panel of judges, and the “People’s Choice”, chosen by festival attendees. Alternative foods will be available for the shell-fish intolerant. Also adults will be able to participate in a shrimp heading competition and children in a shrimp peeling competition for various prizes. LIve music.

St. Paul's Apostolic Church founded the festival in 2004 and the event has grown to over 8,000 attendees in 2014. Conway Area Philanthropists, a local non-profit organization inherited the Festival and continues the southern BBQ tradition in Conway, South Carolina.
