Northeast Aquaculture Conference & Exposition & 43rd Milford Aquaculture Seminar.  The biennial Northeast Aquaculture Conference & Exposition (NACE) was created in 1998 by the Maine Aquaculture Innovation Center with the goal of bringing together producers, service providers, vendors, researchers, students and managers from across the northeast region to discuss pressing issues and relevant research on aquaculture.

June 29, 2024  32nd Annual Zoobilee! Feast with the Beasts
Providence, Rhode Island
Roger Williams Park Zoo.  Zoobilee is the Zoo's largest annual fundraiser. Each year partygoers enjoy fine fare from dozens of the area's best restaurants, caterers and bars, as well as fabulous entertainment including live music and dancing, and other fun surprises!  Proceeds from the fundraiser will directly support the Zoo’s environmental education programs, Zoo improvements, and conservation initiatives that are working to save threatened and endangered species both locally and around the world.  Even if you can't join the party, you can still have fun while supporting the Zoo, thanks to the Zoobilee online auction, featuring a wide array of items, from animal encounters to sports memorabilia, animal artwork, vacation getaways and more. All proceeds from the event and the auction help to support the Zoo's environmental education and wildlife conservation programs!

June 25, 2023  Armenian Festival - Providence, Rhode Island
Sts Sahag and Mesrob Armenian Church Annual Picnic!  A day of Armenian food, and fun! EVERYONE welcome. Held under the big tent! Rain or Shine. The tent will be lit at night so stay all night! Authentic Armenian Food freshly prepared, Kheyma, Lamb Shish-Kebob, Losh-Kebob, Chicken, Khorovatz, Falafel, also including Live Armenian Music and Dancing. Raffles, Bounce House, Kids Games, Pony Rides.  Fun for the whole family! FREE admission and plenty of FREE parking. The church with the Blue Cross on RT95 in Providence.

May 26, 2019 - BIMI Chowda' Fest - Block Island, Rhode Island
Block Island Maritime Institute, 3 to 5pm.  Great chowder, especially clam chowder, is just this side of heaven in a bowl. East Coast chowders range from milky white New England-style, to tomato-based New York-style, to the briny clear broth that’s the hallmark of Rhode Island-style.  Pros and amateurs alike hone their recipes for months, even years, before entering this competition. And why not? The winner takes home bragging rights for years to come. It’s not uncommon to see “Winner of the Block Island Chowda Fest on various island restaurant menus.

The Bread Bakers Guild of America national conference with hands-on classes, demos, lectures and oven building taught by industry leaders and friends for member millers, bakers, and growers.

May 19, 2018 - RI Wool and Fiber Festival - Bristol, Rhode Island
The art of producing and working with natural fibers and traditional craft skills will take center stage at the 9th Annual Rhode Island Fiber Festival and Craft Fair at Coggeshall Farm Museum from 10am to 4pm. Against a backdrop of a working 18th-century farm, artisans and craftspeople from across the Northeast will come together for a day of public celebration and exhibition.

June 2, 2018  Great Chowder Cook-Off - Newport, Rhode Island
Fort Adams State Park. The legendary Great Chowder Cook-Off officially kicks off summer in Newport.  The original and longest running chowder championship draws competitors and crowds from across the country. Attendees enjoy endless samples of traditional and exotic creations from dozens of restaurants and then vote for the best in three categories: Clam, Seafood and Creative. The winners walk away with overflowing prize pots and bragging rights for the year. Live entertainment, food and bar options, kids’ activities.
