February 14, 2013 Valentine's Day Most of the more than 1/2 million restaurants in the U.S. have special events scheduled for today. They are too numerous to list.
March 4-8, 2013 National School Breakfast Week 2013 - Nationwide National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) was launched in 1989 to raise awareness of the availability of the School Breakfast Program (SBP) to all children. Each year, the School Nutrition Association (SNA) helps schools to celebrate NSBW with a fun theme – this year it is School Breakfast--Go For The Gold.
March 19, 2013 'AgDay' National Agriculture Day - Nationwide National Ag Day is a day to recognize and celebrate the abundance provided by agriculture. Every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless other across America join together to recognize the contributions of agriculture.
April 22, 2013 Earth Day - Worldwide The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed. Growing out of the first Earth Day, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with over 22,000 partners in 192 countries to broaden, diversify.
June 1, 2013 32nd Great Chowder Cook-Off - Newport, Rhode Island The legendary Polar Seltzer Great Chowder Cook-Off officially kicks off summer in Newport. The original and longest running chowder championship draws competitors and crowds from across the country. Attendees enjoy endless samples of traditional and exotic creations from dozens of restaurants and then vote for the best in three categories: Clam, Seafood and Creative. The winners walk away with overflowing prize pots and bragging rights for the year. Live entertainment, food and bar options, kids’ activities.
JULY 4, 2013 - There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.
August 14-18, 2013 Washington County Fair - Richmond, Rhode Island Washington County Fair has been a great New England tradition for the past 47 years! The Fair is Rhode Island’s largest agricultural event. One of the biggest draws to the Fair is today’s Country Music Stars! Admission includes access to all daily concerts, special acts and events, the giant midway and kiddy land area (all ride tickets and games separate), all agricultural events and shows, exhibits and displays, tractor and horse pulls, the farm museum, and much, much more! The Fair features the Main Stage pine grove where you can relax and enjoy some of music’s hottest acts. The Midway is full of the rides you look forward too every year, as well as some new additions! Also, for the second year, the Midway will feature New England’s largest traveling roller coaster!

July 12, 2009 Rhode Island World of Flavors Competition - Providence, Rhode Island Showcasing a broad cross-section of Rhode Island Restaurants competing for the top prize in thier world region: Americana, Latin American, Mediterranean, European and Asian. Up to 40 restaurants from the state will sample their food for up to 1,000 voters who will pick the winner in each category. The event serves as the kick-off to Providence Restaurant Week 2009.
August 2-9-16-23-30, 2009 Samurai Sundays - Providence, Rhode Island Every Sunday in August watch a high-energy, sword-fighting samurai film and dine on a series of delectables.
