May 21, 2014  Annual Food For Thought - Providence, Rhode Island
Over the past 15 years, Food For Thought has become a popular Rhode Island event for food lovers looking to discover new restaurants, to talk to their favorite chefs, to explore live world music, or to simply enjoy unique culinary delights from some of Providence's finest.

June 7, 2014  33rd Great Chowder Cook-Off - Newport, Rhode Island
The legendary Polar Seltzer Great Chowder Cook-Off officially kicks off summer in Newport.  The original and longest running chowder championship draws competitors and crowds from across the country. Attendees enjoy endless samples of traditional and exotic creations from dozens of restaurants and then vote for the best in three categories: Clam, Seafood and Creative. The winners walk away with overflowing prize pots and bragging rights for the year. Live entertainment, food and bar options, kids’ activities.

JULY 4, 2014 - There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

August 1-3, 2014  30th Annual Charlestown Seafood Festival
Charlestown, Rhode Island
A gastronomic extravaganza of Rhode Island's best seafood. Arts and crafts, rides, rock wall climbing, Hot Rod & Harley car show, kite exhibition, children's shows, bungee jumping and lobster raffle. Continuous entertainment and events.


August 13-17, 2014  Washington County Fair
Richmond, Rhode Island
Washington County Fair has been a great New England tradition for the past 48 years! The Fair is Rhode Island’s largest agricultural event. One of the biggest draws to the Fair is today’s Country Music Stars!   Admission includes access to all daily concerts, special acts and events, the giant midway and kiddy land area (all ride tickets and games separate), all agricultural events and shows, exhibits and displays, tractor and horse pulls, the farm museum, and much, much more!  The Fair features the Main Stage pine grove where you can relax and enjoy some of music’s hottest acts. The Midway is full of the rides you look forward too every year, as well as some new additions! Also, for the second year, the Midway will feature New England’s largest traveling roller coaster!

Food Truck Festivals of New England LLC (FTFNE) believes that food trucks needn’t be a ‘treat’ restricted for city dwellers only, and we believe that, given the opportunity, people in all parts of Massachusetts and New England would not only like to eat, but would love the chance to sample gourmet food from the area’s best food trucks without having to make the trek into the 'big city!'

Enjoy a Victorian celebration of the season in the magnificent 19th century Griswold House, presented by the Marley Bridges Theatre Company. John Jacob "Jack" Astor IV is a Scrooge. A lively waterfront celebration with locally grown food, art, and entertainment. Farmers market, raw oyster bar, sampling, culinary demonstrations and more.

November 6, 2011  Chocolate Brunch - Newport, Rhode Island
Chocolate Brunch 2011 is a gastronomic feast of savory and sweet traditional and creative brunch fare catered by Russell Morin.  The annual fundraiser for Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties, Chocolate Brunch is a Sunday afternoon of great food, beach views, live music, and a holiday shopping Silent Auction.

July 24-25, 2010  Free Food & Fun - Usquepaugh, Rhode Island
Held at Kenyon's Grist Mill with over 40 Rhode Island vendors. Free samples of local foods and free activities: kayaking, tours of the mill and grinding process, pet alpacas, meet local farmers, artisans and local Narragansett Indians, live music, and enjoy the scenery and waterfall. Please bring an item for the Rhode Island Food Bank.

July 12, 2009  Rhode Island World of Flavors Competition
Providence, Rhode Island
Showcasing a broad cross-section of Rhode Island Restaurants competing for the top prize in thier world region: Americana, Latin American, Mediterranean, European and Asian. Up to 40 restaurants from the state will sample their food for up to 1,000 voters who will pick the winner in each category. The event serves as the kick-off to Providence Restaurant Week 2009.

August 2-9-16-23-30, 2009  Samurai Sundays - Providence, Rhode Island
Every Sunday in August watch a high-energy, sword-fighting samurai film and dine on a series of delectables. Ebisu features traditional robatayaki and a wide selection of sake (hot and cold), as well as an assortment of Japanese beers.

August 29, 2009  Savor Providence - Providence, Rhode Island
Savor Providence leads people right to the doorsteps of the many exceptional restaurants in and around Providence's vibrant downtown. Sample a "taste" of each restaurant's personality and flavor, with signature dishes, house specialties or classic cocktails offered at each establishment. Proceeds from the event benefit the educational programs of Trinity Repertory Company.
