February 14, 2013 Valentine's Day Most of the more than 1/2 million restaurants in the U.S. have special events scheduled for today. They are too numerous to list.
March 4-8, 2013 National School Breakfast Week 2013 - Nationwide National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) was launched in 1989 to raise awareness of the availability of the School Breakfast Program (SBP) to all children. Each year, the School Nutrition Association (SNA) helps schools to celebrate NSBW with a fun theme – this year it is School Breakfast--Go For The Gold.
March 16, 2013 Capitol Market Green Chili Shoot Out - Charleston, West Virginia Sample green chili and cornbread and enjoy kids activities, live music, green beer and more. Proceeds benefit the National MS Society.

April 13, 2013 7th Annual Chocolate Festival - Lewisburg, West Virginia The Festival includes an exciting schedule of events centered on the chocolate theme: musical performances, chocolate themed dinners, chocolate tastings, and fun for all ages.
April 20, 2013 75th Feast of the Ramson - Richwood, West Virginia Ramp dinner, music, clogging, large craft show, and new this year, a Ramp Recipe Contest. We are the oldest Ramp festival in the State of West Virginia. Come and join us for a day of entertainment and good eatin'.
April 22, 2013 Earth Day - Worldwide The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed. Growing out of the first Earth Day, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with over 22,000 partners in 192 countries to broaden, diversify.
May 15-19, 2013 72nd Annual West Virginia Strawberry Festival Buckhannon, West Virginia The Festival is a unique, traditional celebration to promote the strawberry harvest. Enthusiastic volunteers provide good, family style entertainment, with educational and cultural events for everyone.

July 4-6, 2013 Mountain State Art & Craft Fair - Ripley, West Virginia The 50th Mountain State Art & Craft Fair is the original event to showcase WV Artisians, musicians and specialty food companies. Firecracker Chili Cookoff! The Fair hosts over 170 exhibitors and food companies demonstrating and selling their hand crafted art. The Mountain State Art & Craft Fair is held on beautiful Cedar Lakes just outside Ripley with the mission being to educate and demonstrate the culture, history and traditions of West Virginia!
July 26-28, 2013 31st Annual Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival Wheeling, West Virginia Wheeling is home to the second-largest Italian festival in the country. Food is provided by over 100 specialty vendors and visitors are treated to a celebration of anything and everything Italian in a setting complete with music and culture.
August 9-17, 2013 State Fair of West Virginia - Fairlea, West Virginia The State Fair began as an agricultural event and its mission statement opens with the primary goal being, “to produce a quality fair committed to the traditions of agriculture.” The importance of agriculture in daily life, society and international markets is a very important educational focus of the Fair’s programming.

September 7-8, 2012 42nd Annual Nicholas County Potato Festival Summersville, West Virginia Celebrates potato farming, which is a significant part of Nicholas County's heritage. The festival is geared towards the family and provides an array of activities.

September 20-23, 2012 Clay County Golden Delicious Festival - Clay, West Virginia Indulge in a taste of fun in Clay, birthplace of the Golden Delicious apple, official state fruit of West Virginia.
September 27-30, 2012 71st Annual Buckwheat Festival - Kingwood, West Virginia The festival's namesake- buckwheat- is served each year as deliciously sour cakes that can be smothered in butter and syrup or applesauce. Festival highlights include livestock shows, arts & crafts, parade, music and fireworks.
September 29, 2012 WV RoadKill Cook-off & Autumn Harvest Festival Marlinton, West Virginia The West Virginia Road Kill Cook-off is one of the region’s most exciting and fun annual events. In years past, the Food Network, the Travel Channel and the Discovery Channel have all done filming of this wild and wacky festival! Anything goes as long as the main ingredient is an animal commonly found along the road. You can taste some very unique dishes. The cooking begins at 11 a.m.; the judging begins at 2 p.m.; and the tasting beings when you're ready to sample a taste! October 4-7, 2012 West Virginia Pumpkin Festival - Milton, West Virginia Started in 1985, the festival was designed to help farmers with the raising and selling of pumpkins. The festival attracts attention from throughout the region and features a variety of activities aimed at families.
October 11-14, 2012 58th Annual West Virginia Black Walnut Festival Spencer, West Virginia The 58th annual event will feature food, entertainment, car show, livestock show, carnival, and awards for the finest mature black walnut and hickory nut specimens from around the state, judged for the quality and size of their kernels.
October 18-21, 2012 Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival Martinsburg, West Virginia Parade, cooking demonstration, arts & crafts, square dance, and tours of the WV University Tree Fruit Research Center. Many contests: best apple pie, artistic apple arrangements, best grower, photography, apple eating, apple peeling, and apple variety identification.
