Hosted by the MU Horticulture & Agroforestry Research Center, the event is an opportunity to introduce landowners to the benefits of implementing agroforestry practices on their land. There are cooking demonstrations, musical entertainment and chestnut products available to buy.

October 22-23, 2011 Missouri Waterfowl Festival - Kennett, Missouri Almost 250,000 acres of rice farms in the Missouri Bootheel have been developed in the last twenty years, and the ducks and geese are stopping here by the thousands. Area farmers re-flood their rice fields after harvest and hold the water until the birds migrate back in the spring. Festival activities include a duck calling contest, 5K run, gun show, student art contest, exhibits, and retriever contest.

October 29-30, 2011 Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival - Kimmswick, Missouri Come enjoy the small town ambience and stroll through our streets lined with 500 to 600 food, drink and craft vendors. Visitors are encouraged to help members of the Historical Society stir the apple butter cooking over a woodburning fire. Apple butter is for sale each day. Also enjoy lots of live entertainment throughout the town. Attendance: 100,000.
