Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation Greek Food Festival featuring traditional homemade Greek delicacies including soulvakia, gyros, domathes, spanakopitas, baklava and more. Sept 29-Oct 2, 2011  American Royal World Series of Barbecue - Kansas City, Missouri
The American Royal Barbecue is the opening event of the American Royal and the season finale for the competitive circuit. Spreading over 20 acres in Kansas City’s historic Stockyards District, and with nearly 500 teams competing in four culinary contests, The Royal is the largest barbecue contest in the world. Combine this with a barbecue-related trade expo, this four-day food festival is truly the “World Series of Barbecue.”

September 30-Oct 1, 2011  31st Annual Pecan Festival - Brunswick, Missouri
Celebrate the region's prolific pecan production with great food, contests, entertainment, two parades and a wide variety of vendors while visiting this charming riverside town. Don't miss "the world's largest pecan".

Apple cook-off, parade, fashion show, music, tractor & car shows, apple auction, raffle, children's activities and antique, craft and food vendors on Main Street.

October 7-9, 2011  Ozark Fall FarmFest - Springfield, Missouri
One of the largest agricultural trade shows in the Midwest, the 32nd annual Farmfest offers over 750 booths of products and services for the farm and ranch as well as more than 500 head of purebred livestock on display.

October 8, 2011  9th Annual Missouri Chestnut Roast - New Franklin, Missouri
Thousands of festival visitors each year enjoy samples of roasted chestnuts. Hosted by the MU Horticulture & Agroforestry Research Center, the event is an opportunity to introduce landowners to the benefits of implementing agroforestry practices on their land. There are cooking demonstrations, musical entertainment and chestnut products available to buy.

October 8, 2011  3rd Annual Hannibal Uncorked Fine Wine Pub Crawl - Hannibal, Missouri
Hannibal wine pubs, restaurants and art galleries will be participating in an evening of fun that includes 1. Wine tasting in 10 different venues from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, 2. Second Saturday gallery walk from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, 3. Food specials in participating restaurants all evening. 4. Music in several pubs from 8:00 till 11:00 pm.

October 8-9, 2011  Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival - Hartsburg, Missouri
Self-claimed "Missouri's Pumpkin Patch", Hartsburg will be filled with outstanding arts and crafts, musical entertainment, Halloween decorations, and tens of thousands of pumpkins. The festival offers pumpkin carving, pumpkin pie eating competitions, hayrides, pumpkin painting, apple butter making, and straw & corn mazes.

October 15, 2011  Springfield Oyster Festival - Springfield, Missouri
Oysters served by local restaurants.  There is also a Full Bar & Grill serving Oyster Shooters, beer, and other food and drinks. Live entertainment. There are more than 60 vendors of shopping.  Children's activities, including a bounce house, facepainting, cartoon characters, sand castle building, hula hooping and much more.  A Breast Cancer Benefit.

October 22-23, 2011  Missouri Waterfowl Festival - Kennett, Missouri
Almost 250,000 acres of rice farms in the Missouri Bootheel have been developed in the last twenty years, and the ducks and geese are stopping here by the thousands.  Area farmers re-flood their rice fields after harvest and hold the water until the birds migrate back in the spring. Festival activities include a duck calling contest, 5K run, gun show, student art contest, exhibits, and retriever contest.

October 28-29, 2011  Persimmon Days - Sparta, Missouri
This year's attractions include: Miss Persimmon contest, arts and crafts, 5K run, food, games, vendors, cake walk, costume parade, persimmons and persimmon-based goods.

October 29-30, 2011  Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival - Kimmswick, Missouri
Come enjoy the small town ambience and stroll through our streets lined with 500 to 600 food, drink and craft vendors. Visitors are encouraged to help members of the Historical Society stir the apple butter cooking over a woodburning fire. Apple butter is for sale each day. Also enjoy lots of live entertainment throughout the town. Attendance: 100,000.
