Cordova Iceworm Festival
Cordova, Alaska
Cordova rolls out the red carpet and welcomes guests from all over the world the the annual Cordova Iceworm Festival. In 1961, a few Cordovans created the Iceworm Festival as a way to break up the winter blues.  Since then, the event has turned into one of the most successful festivals in Alaska.  Three days of fun-filled events showcase Cordova’s talents, hospitality and sense of humor.  The Iceworm Variety Show features local performers and is the stage for the Miss Iceworm coronation.  Groups of locals race down the docks, jump into survival gear and dive into the icy harbor waters in the annual Survival Suit Race.

June 14-22, 2024  Slam'n Salm'n Derby - Anchorage, Alaska
Pick up a free derby ticket before wetting a line for the chance to win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.  As one of the only urban fishing derbies in America, the derby provides a unique opportunity for visitors and locals to get in some “reel” action in the center of the state’s largest city. For those traveling without gear, several local businesses rent fishing poles and boots and sell licenses.  Salmon fishing derby benefits Downtown Soup Kitchen, which provides 90,000 meals annually and other services for the hungry and homeless in Anchorage, Alaska.

April 29, 2023  Wild Food Feast 2023 - Cordova, Alaska
Cook your favorite dish made from local wild ingredients, and enter it in the Wild Food Feast Cook-off!! We invite participants to use their kitchen creativity to show off fish, game, and berries that grew, walked, swam, or flew in the watershed and were harvested in your local area. The only rule is the showcase ingredient in your dish can not come from a traditional brick-and-mortar store. Rather, let the great out-of-doors be your grocery store!  Prizes will be awarded for the favorite dish in each category. All guests are entered into door prize drawings.

June 15-30, 2021  Annual Seward Halibut Tournament - Seward, Alaska
Seward’s halibut are a local surprise for those who typically think only of our Silver Salmon runs.  Seward’s Halibut Tournament highlights this fishery, attracting early season visitors and anglers from throughout Alaska.  Daily tickets are $10, with a 3-day “weekender” ticket for $25.  Cash prizes awarded at the end of the tournament for the heaviest fish and the second and third place entries.  Daily prizes increase your odds of winning.

Anchorage, Alaska - EVENT CANCELED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS.
Showcasing beers of the Northwest with special attention to Alaska's brews. The whole weekend is a celebration of brewing beer, mead and barley wine. Live entertainment.

April 7-16, 2017 - Downtown Dining Week - Anchorage, Alaska
Do you like eating great food? Need an excuse to come downtown? Downtown Dining Week is here!  Downtown restaurants will offer great lunch and dinner specials. Its a hassle-free program to experience downtown’s thriving culinary scene!  Anchorage’s Downtown Dining Week features set-priced specials for lunch ($10 or $15) and for dinner ($30), at 26 restaurants throughout Downtown Anchorage for 10 days.

January 15-17, 2016 - Crystal Gallery of Ice - Anchorage, Alaska
Ice, Ice and more Ice will be in downtown the first weekend of January in Town Square at the Crystal Gallery of Ice.   Ice carvers from all over the state (and world!) come to compete in our ice carving competition, transforming ice slabs into beautiful works of art.  The ice carving competition starts on Friday, with carvers working throughout the weekend to complete their sculptures by 5 pm on Sunday. Ice Sculptures will be on display at the Crystal Gallery of Ice in Town Square until they melt. Or you can view them anytime on Flickr.

January 26-April 26, 2015  100 Days of Downtown Dining
Anchorage, Alaska
100 Days of Downtown Dining is a winter-time promotion from January 26th to April 26th for participating restaurants in downtown that rewards you for dining out around downtown. That’s right: eat great food AND get rewards!  It’s simple: Enjoy an entree at participating restaurants and get stickers on your game card or stamps in the “100 Days” Perka App. Visit at least six (6) different restaurants and collect a prize!  6 stickers = $10 dining certificate - 12 stickers = $25 dining certificate - 20 stickers = $50 in dining certificates - 30 stickers = $75 in dining certificates.
