The World's Largest Wild Rice Festival for over 65 years, a celebration of wild rice, one of the area's natural staples. Today's wild rice festivals sponsored by the Deer River Lions Club feature a full schedule of activities designed to bring the whole Deer River Area Community together for a weekend of fun, food, entertainment, and fellowship. Whether you are young or old, there is always something to see and do at the festival.

Celebrating Olivia, located in one of the most productive agricultural areas in the United States and known as the "Corn Capital of the World," having the highest concentration of seed research and processing companies of any place in the globe.
August 23-September 3, 2018 Minnesota State Fair - Falcon Heights, Minnesota
Showcasing the state's finest agriculture, art, and industry, "The Great Minnesota Get-Together" is the largest state fair in the country in terms of daily attendance. Visitors enjoy many different types of food, with over 50 kinds served on a stick: espresso on-a-stick, hotdish on-a-stick, walleye on-a-stick and deep fried pickles on-a-stick to name a few. During a typical year, 20,000 gallons of milk are served at the all-you-can-drink concession. Don't miss the Princess Kay of the Milky Way butter sculpture. Attendance: 1.7 million
