April 28-30, 2017 Arbor Day Celebration - Nebraska City, Nebraska
One of the original citizens of Nebraska City, J. Sterling Morton (whose son would go on to found the Morton Salt Company) was a famed agriculturalist who would go on to serve as Secretary of Agriculture under President Grover Cleveland. But first, in 1872, Morton founded Arbor Day to encourage individuals, groups and municipalities alike to plant trees. On that first Arbor Day alone, over one million trees were planted in Nebraska. Today, Arbor Day is celebrated worldwide.

The Blossom Festival isn’t a single event as much as it is a month-long celebration of pollen. The fun keeps popping all month long. The Chicken Show is a fun event held annually on the second Saturday in July. Worlds Largest Chicken Dance, Egg Roulette, Cement Chicken Auction, Hot Wing Eating Contest, Chicken Parade, Live Rooster Crowing, Chicken Feed, Ice Cream Social, Arts, Crafts Fun and Food. All things Chicken!
July 21-22, 2017 Riverfest: Red, White & Que - Bellevue, Nebraska
Top notch regional festival involving Live Music, Beer Garden, Kid Zone, Fireworks, Helicopter Rides, Hot Rods at RiverFest Car, Truck & Motorcycle show and State Championship BBQ Competition. An annual event attended by over 30,000 that is filled with fun and food along the banks of the Missouri River at Haworth Park on the third full weekend of July. Attendance: 30,000+.

At the Gage County Fairgrounds in the main barn. Barbeque organized by the Agri-Business Committee of the Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce.
July 27-30, 2017 Lemon Days - Nebraska City, Nebraska
Join us for a very refreshing lemonade stand competition where area youth learn about entrepeneurism and small business ownership/operation. This is where we turn lemons into lemonade. And by lemonade we mean bargains. We can’t claim that this is the world’s biggest sidewalk sale, but that’s only because we’re too busy saving money to do the research.
