Omaha's breweries and beer bars have teamed up to give you a weeks worth of beer events all leading up to the Extreme Beerfest.

February 18-25, 2017  National FFA Week - Nationwide
the week of George Washington's birthday as National FFA Week in recognition of his legacy as an agriculturist and farmer.

February 24-25, 2017  11th Annual Beertopia Extreme Beerfest
Ralston, Nebraska
This year we’ve got an all new venue for the Midwest’s most extreme beer festival!  Join us at Ralston Arena as Beer Corner USA hosts one of the largest beer festivals in Omaha.  Unlimited sampling of over 300 beers – many over 7% ABV, along with some of the most extreme beers available and showcases many local Homebrew Clubs.

Growing out of the first Earth Day, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with over 22,000 partners in 192 countries to broaden, diversify and mobilize the environmental movement. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.

April 28-30, 2017  Arbor Day Celebration - Nebraska City, Nebraska
One of the original citizens of Nebraska City, J. Sterling Morton (whose son would go on to found the Morton Salt Company) was a famed agriculturalist who would go on to serve as Secretary of Agriculture under President Grover Cleveland. But first, in 1872, Morton founded Arbor Day to encourage individuals, groups and municipalities alike to plant trees. On that first Arbor Day alone, over one million trees were planted in Nebraska. Today, Arbor Day is celebrated worldwide.

April 28-May 14, 2017  Apple Blossom Festival
Nebraska City, Nebraska
The Blossom Festival isn’t a single event as much as it is a month-long celebration of pollen. The fun keeps popping all month long. If spring has sprung and your medicine cabinet is chockablock with a seasons’ supply of anti-histamines, it must be time for the Blossom Festival. For three consecutive weekends from Arbor Day to Mother’s Day, Nebraska City becomes the place to be for fun worth returning for.

June 24-25, 2017 - Duncan Ribfest - Duncan, Nebraska
Duncan Ribfest is a fundraiser for the Duncan Volunteer Fire Department & the Duncan Wrestling Club. 5 BBQ Companies, Beer Garden and 6 Bands. A Family Affair.  Admission: 5 and under Free;  Adults $ 5.00

There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

July 27-30, 2017  Lemon Days - Nebraska City, Nebraska
Join us for a very refreshing lemonade stand competition where area youth learn about entrepeneurism and small business ownership/operation. This is where we turn lemons into lemonade. And by lemonade we mean bargains. We can’t claim that this is the world’s biggest sidewalk sale, but that’s only because we’re too busy saving money to do the research.

June 13-19, 2016 - Homestead Days - Beatrice, Nebraska
Celebrates the importance of the 1862 Homestead Act to the settlement of Nebraska.

June 17-18, 2016 - Swedish Days Ribfest - Holdrege, Nebraska
There will be 3 competitions this year—one for pork ribs, one for beef brisket and one for campfire dessert!  Triple your chances of winning!  - The event will be held in Holdrege, NE on 5th Avenue between West Avenue and Grant Street.   You can start selling food to the public at 2:00 pm!  - To enter, go to our website to download and fill out the registration form and mail it back to the Chamber with your entry fee of $50.  - After June 10th, the entry fee goes up to $75, so get your registration in ASAP!

July 8-10, 2016  The Wayne Chicken Show - Wayne, Nebraska
The Chicken Show is a fun event held annually on the second Saturday in July. Worlds Largest Chicken Dance, Egg Roulette, Cement Chicken Auction, Hot Wing Eating Contest, Chicken Parade, Live Rooster Crowing, Chicken Feed, Ice Cream Social, Arts, Crafts Fun and Food.  All things Chicken!

July 15-16, 2016  Riverfest: Red, White & Que - Bellevue, Nebraska
What’s Red,White and Que all over? The Nebraska State BBQ Championship and Music Festival. Now in its 12th year, this is a significant regional event, attracting more than 40,000 people to Bellevue. The schedule includes the BBQ cook off, RiverFest 5K run, Kid Zone, car show, Iron Chef Competition, and live music.  Attendance: 40,000.
