Nebraska Sustainable Agriculture Society (NSAS) is a non-profit, grass-roots membership organization. Initiated over 30 years ago by farmer members, NSAS has grown into a dynamic organization with members from all across Nebraska. We welcome farmers and non-farmers alike...everyone eats!  Our mission: To promote agriculture and food systems that build healthy land, people, communities and quality of life, for present and future generations.

February 17-25, 2024  Omaha Beer Week - Omaha, Nebraska
Started in 2012 by members and supporters of Omaha’s craft beer industry, Omaha Beer Week is an advocacy group that spotlights breweries, tap houses, craft beer bars, and hobby shops across the metro area. For a full week, people from across Nebraska and surrounding states come together over drinks to share friendship, fun, and entertainment.

A day to recognize & celebrate the abundance provided by agriculture.

April 26-28, 2024  Arbor Day Celebration - Nebraska City, Nebraska
One of the original citizens of Nebraska City, J. Sterling Morton (whose son would go on to found the Morton Salt Company) was a famed agriculturalist who would go on to serve as Secretary of Agriculture under President Grover Cleveland. But first, in 1872, Morton founded Arbor Day to encourage individuals, groups and municipalities alike to plant trees. On that first Arbor Day alone, over one million trees were planted in Nebraska. Today, Arbor Day is celebrated worldwide.

Showcasing Omaha's great foods and live entertainment.  A 3-day extravaganza and outdoor food festival open to the public and FREE to attend.

There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

February 25, 2023  Annual Beertopia Ultimate Beerfest
La Vista, Nebraska
The Midwest’s most extreme beer festival!  The Steppe Center.  Beertopia’s Ultimate Beerfest returns in a more intimate setting with a hand crafted list of breweries with brewery reps present, and focusing on rare, unusual and/or high abv beers.

April 22, 2023 - Earth Day - Worldwide

June 21-25, 2023  Homestead Days - Beatrice, Nebraska
Celebrates the importance of the 1862 Homestead Act to the settlement of Nebraska.  Attendance: 17,000.

June 24-25, 2023  Duncan Ribfest - Duncan, Nebraska
Duncan Ribfest is a fundraiser for the Duncan Volunteer Fire Department & the Duncan Wrestling Club. 5 BBQ Companies, Beer Garden and 6 Bands. A Family Affair.  This will be the LAST Duncan Ribfest. 

July 7-9, 2023  The Wayne Chicken Show - Wayne, Nebraska
The Chicken Show is a fun event held annually on the second Saturday in July. Worlds Largest Chicken Dance, Egg Roulette, Cement Chicken Auction, Hot Wing Eating Contest, Chicken Parade, Live Rooster Crowing, Chicken Feed, Ice Cream Social, Arts, Crafts Fun and Food.  All things Chicken!

July 26-30, 2023  Gage County Fair - Beatrice, Nebraska
Whether you’re near or far, we welcome you to Come Home to the Gage County Fair this year!  Relive your childhood memories and make a whole lot more while you walk the fairgrounds, ride the rides, sing along to the music and cheer on your favorite racer.  There’s SO much to do at the Gage County Fair.

Hosted by the Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce & Chamber Ambassadors. Beer garden, live music. LOTS of BBQ to sample and eat!  Beer Garden, Public Tasting & Judging open - Ribs & Pork Loin available for purchase from various vendors.

January 8, 2020 - Mid-America Alfalfa Expo & Conference
Hastings, Nebraska
The Mid-America Forage Expo is designed especially for forage producers, livestock/dairy producers and others involved in forage production, purchasing, hay feeding or processing. Jam-packed with information, education and innovation—all focused on helping hay and livestock producers improve production, performance and profitability. A trade show featuring some 100 exhibitors and a fundraising auction are included. The Mid-America Forage Expo is sponsored by the Nebraska Alfalfa Marketing Association dba Independent Forage Growers.

June 26-27, 2020  Riverfest - Bellevue, Nebraska
Bellevue’s regional RiverFest annual festival draws more than 30,000 people to Bellevue.  If you love good food, good times, great music, Nebraska BBQ State Championship and a great setting then RiverFest is the place for you to promote your business and support Bellevue’s largest community festival.  Attendance: 30,000+.

April 28-May 14, 2017  Apple Blossom Festival
Nebraska City, Nebraska
The Blossom Festival isn’t a single event as much as it is a month-long celebration of pollen. The fun keeps popping all month long. If spring has sprung and your medicine cabinet is chockablock with a seasons’ supply of anti-histamines, it must be time for the Blossom Festival. For three consecutive weekends from Arbor Day to Mother’s Day, Nebraska City becomes the place to be for fun worth returning for.

July 27-30, 2017  Lemon Days - Nebraska City, Nebraska
Join us for a very refreshing lemonade stand competition where area youth learn about entrepeneurism and small business ownership/operation. This is where we turn lemons into lemonade. And by lemonade we mean bargains. We can’t claim that this is the world’s biggest sidewalk sale, but that’s only because we’re too busy saving money to do the research.
