Nebraska City's historic AppleJack Festival annually draws between 60,000 and 80,000 people to Nebraska City to celebrate the kickoff of the apple harvest. Apple pie, apple cider, apple cider donuts, candy apples, caramel apples, apple fritters, apple salad...pretty much anything you can imagine made from apples are available at the AppleJack Festival. With over 6 craft fairs, a parade, street dances, a classic car show, live music, and a 3-day carnival, for one weekend Nebraska City becomes the Apple Capital of the World. Attendance: 80,000.

Hastings is Kool-Aid's original home. In 1927, Edwin Perkins invented Kool-Aid in Hastings, Nebraska. Kool-Aid Days includes world's largest Kool-Aid stand, $2 mug gets you all the Kool-Aid you can drink and admission to Koncert Kool-Aid.
August 17-19, 2017 Capital City Ribfest - Lincoln, Nebraska
Nebraska Pork Producers Capital City Ribfest is Lincoln’s favorite, and longest running summer festival featuring award-winning barbecue from around the country and some of the best local and regional live music on the Ribfest Sound Stage. A 4 day summer street festival featuring award-winning BBQ and music. Award-winning BBQ pit bosses from around the country gather to showcase their talents and serve up award-winning barbeque to southeastern Nebraskans. This festival is unique to Lincoln in that barbeque is the focal point of the event - offering the public a chance to sample a variety of barbeque recipes from across the nation and even Australia. Offering insights into the unique culture of Nebraska, the Fair is built on 145 years of tradition.
It showcases the talent, products, and people of Nebraska. Nebraskans come together to experience the latest technological advancements in agriculture, first-class entertainment, and the most delectable and extraordinary food the state has to offer. Highlights include a competitive livestock exhibition, a farming equipment trade show, and competitions in other fields, such as handmade crafts and baked goods.
August 26, 2017 Annual Rhythm & Ribs BBQ Competition

September 10, 2017 Taste of Florence - Omaha, Nebraska
Senior Health Foundation Annual Taste of Florence food festival from 1-5pm at Florence Home Healthcare at 7915 North 30th St. Taste of Florence will feature nearly 20 local restaurants from the Florence neighborhood and surrounding areas. Visitors will be treated to a wide variety of food served by some of the finest restaurants in the metro area. Fun for all ages including a special Kid’s Zone with face painting, games, and prizes. The Nebraska Humane Society’s PAW van will have animals to show and adopt. The Omaha Fire Department will be present with their Fire Safety Trailer, in which children can learn how to exit safely if their home is on fire. Other activities include a jazz quartet, special appearance by Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Rogers for autographs and pictures, a live mural painting by two of Omaha’s best graffiti artists, and a special 9-11 first-responders tribute. The afternoon will culminate with an exciting pumpkin-carving competition pitting some of Omaha’s finest chefs versus Omaha’s finest surgeons in what promises to be a fun time for all. Senior Health Foundation helps fill in the gaps in critical programs for seniors in Omaha through Midwest Geriatrics, Inc.

November 28-29, 2017 Mid-America Alfalfa Expo & Conference
Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds. Free admission. Designed especially for alfalfa producers, livestock/dairy producers and others involved in alfalfa production, purchasing, hay feeding or processing. Two days jam-packed with information, education and innovation—all focused on helping hay and livestock producers improve production, performance and profitability. A trade show featuring some 100 exhibitors and a fundraising auction are included. The Mid-America Alfalfa Expo & Conference is sponsored by the Nebraska Alfalfa Marketing Association (NAMA).

December 31, 2017 New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular
Celebrate New Year’s Eve with this year’s Fireworks show! The closing event of the Holiday Lights Festival, it is one of the largest New Year’s Eve fireworks displays in the region. All proceeds from this year's Festival benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief, supporting our friends and neighbors affected by the 2011 Missouri River flooding.
