October 1-2, 2011 Richmond Original Italian Street Festival - Richmond, Virginia 7th Annual Italian Festival has something for everyone including the Best Italian Food vendors, Entertainment, Children's Area complete with Clown, face-painting, balloon creatures, petting zoo, a large cultural exhibit, wines from Italy, lemoncello. This is a non-profit fund raising event. This year's recipients are The Fisher House that provides housing for families of Veterans receiving treatment at our VA Hospital, Virginia Commonwealth University's Italian Studies Program, and the Tuckahoe Rescue Squad...all worthy of our support.
October 3-9, 2011 Virginia Beach Wine Week - Virginia Beach, Virginia Participating restaurants will offer Virginia wine specials and flights including wines both by the glass and bottle paired with menus items specially created for the event. Dinners and seminars will be held throughout Wine Week, to include evenings with winemakers from various vineyards across Virginia.
October 6-9, 2011 34th Annual Suffolk Peanut Festival - Suffolk, Virginia This family-friendly event honors the city”s agriculture heritage and devotion to peanuts, our favorite legumes.
