61st Annual Urbanna Oyster Festival - Urbanna, Virginia
The Town of Urbanna is a true Oyster town and the best place to taste, buy and try all things oyster related. Start your day at the Scottish Factor Store and check out the history of the oyster industry in Urbanna. After your get a peek at how we’ve done it for decades, take a right out of the driveway to the museum and head down “Community Row” to the Waterfront exhibits where you can see the industry in practice today. Once you get a little hands-on experience head back up to the vendors and try all of the different ways to eat these bivalve delicacies! Don’t forget to try the wine and oyster pairings! Also, Virginia Craft Beer Tasting in the park. Virginia is for Oyster Lovers after all!
November 3, 2018 16th Annual SML Fall Chili and Craft Festival
Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia
Enjoy a full-day event featuring music, crafts and a spectacular competitive chili cook-off. Trophies will be awarded for "Best Chili," "People's Choice," and "Showmanship." It'll be a hot time at Smith Mountain Lake. Held lakeside at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, near the Hales Ford Bridge.

6th Annual Richmond Cider Celebration
Dive into the cider renaissance with cider from VA cideries and local food from Richmond area chefs at Richmond’s historic 17th Street Farmers’ Market.Tickets are $30 in advance, and $35 at the door. Each ticket includes: commemorative tasting glass, dual wine tote bag, access to educational workshops, live music and 10 cider tastings. Cider will also be available for purchase by the glass or bottle. Under 21 may enter at no charge and purchase a la carte food and drinks.
November 10, 2018 29th Annual Oyster Roast - Reedville, Virginia
Reedville Fishermen's Museum. Important fund raiser, which supports the museum’s educational programming, features a menu of oysters – both cooked and raw-on-the-half-shell, bean soup, hot dogs, barbeque, clams, chicken wings, cheese, desserts, coffee and soft drinks. Beer and wine available for purchase. Music and dancing.

This year the Virginia Lovers' Gourd Society partners with the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley to present gourd artisans, a gourd competition, and raw gourds for your own crafting purposes. At Jamestown Settlement, explore 17th-century culinary practices of Virginia during this three-day event. Visitors discover how food was gathered, preserved and prepared on land and at sea by Virginia's English colonists and Powhatan Indians.
December 1, 2018 - Holiday Yule Log Bonfire & Holiday Marketplace
This festive outdoor wonderland will feature unique and local crafters, a massive Yule Log bonfire, Christmas caroling with a take home carol book, and also a visit from the big-man himself, Santa Claus. During the festivities, hot chocolate, ciders, seasonal craft beer, mulled wine and other holiday treats will be available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Virginia Stage Associates.

Last Night on the Town

Virginia Beach will once again celebrate the arrival of the New Year with a festive “Last Night on the Town” New Year’s Eve event, hosted by the Central Business District Association. Held on Dec. 31, the annual event will begin with a family-friendly celebration at Pembroke Mall, then continue with entertainment at The Town Center of Virginia Beach and culminate with a live performance by a national headliner.
