November 5, 2016 14th Annual SML Fall Chili and Craft Festival
Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia
Enjoy a full-day event featuring music, crafts and a spectacular competitive chili cook-off. Trophies will be awarded for "Best Chili," "People's Choice," and "Showmanship." It'll be a hot time at Smith Mountain Lake. Held lakeside at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, near the Hales Ford Bridge.
November 5, 2016 - 17th Annual Brunswick Stew and Stout Festival
Stewmasters from all over gather for this annual event, each offering their unique version of a tasty fall favorite. Stew available for purchase by the sample or by the quart. Come enjoy an expanded craft market, great music, and ice-cold brew to wash down all that delicious stew. Make sure you get there early before the quarts run out!

November 12, 2016 Annual Oyster Roast - Reedville, Virginia
Reedville Fishermen's Museum. Important fund raiser, which supports the museum’s educational programming, features a menu of oysters – both cooked and raw-on-the-half-shell, bean soup, hot dogs, barbeque, clams, chicken wings, cheese, desserts, coffee and soft drinks. Beer and wine available for purchase. Music and dancing.
November 12, 2016 4th Annual Richmond Cider Celebration
Dive into the cider renaissance with cider from VA cideries and local food from Richmond area chefs at Richmond’s historic 17th Street Farmers’ Market.Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door. Each ticket includes: commemorative tasting glass, dual wine tote bag, access to educational workshops, live music and 10 cider tastings. Cider will also be available for purchase by the glass or bottle. Under 21 may enter at no charge and purchase a la carte food and drinks.
November 15-19, 2016 150th Annual National Grange Convention
The Grange is a family, community organization with its roots in agriculture. Founded in 1867, the Grange was formed as a national organization with a local focus. Our members are given the opportunity to learn and grow to their full potential as citizens and leaders. Each year, the National Grange holds a convention for the delegate body to set the policy agenda for the upcoming year and members to attain their Seventh Degree. Convention is open to the public for most events, however the Seventh Degree conferral ceremony and the opening of the convention are limited to only Grange members. Convention consists of daily sessions, committee meetings, workshops, a store, and an idea fair exhibit, in which different Granges share programs that are successful in their state. The convention has daily Grange Youth activities each day, along with Junior Grange activities, and activities for non-delegates. Convention sites are rotated around the country among the five Grange regions.

Really....it's a good excuse to have a good time before the relatives come for the holidays! This new event is in the Old Dominion building from 12pm - 6pm.

This popular, family-style dinner raises funds for youth leadership programs sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Arlington and helps to fund community youth projects and grants for other educational and non-profit organizations focusing on children in Arlington. Fresh oysters are shucked on the spot and served on the half-shell. The feast also includes fried oysters and clams, barbeque, hamburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, chips, soft drinks, coffee, and beer from Rock Bottom Brewery.
