28th Annual Oyster Roast
Reedville Fishermen's Museum. Important fund raiser, which supports the museum’s educational programming, features a menu of oysters – both cooked and raw-on-the-half-shell, bean soup, hot dogs, barbeque, clams, chicken wings, cheese, desserts, coffee and soft drinks. Beer and wine available for purchase. Music and dancing.
November 11, 2017 5th Annual Richmond Cider Celebration
Dive into the cider renaissance with cider from VA cideries and local food from Richmond area chefs at Richmond’s historic 17th Street Farmers’ Market.Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door. Each ticket includes: commemorative tasting glass, dual wine tote bag, access to educational workshops, live music and 10 cider tastings. Cider will also be available for purchase by the glass or bottle. Under 21 may enter at no charge and purchase a la carte food and drinks.

This year the Virginia Lovers' Gourd Society partners with the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley to present gourd artisans, a gourd competition, and raw gourds for your own crafting purposes. Family, fun, and friendly spirits combine to celebrate the interesting history and artistic possibilities available to the gourd enthusiast.

What makes this particular Brunswick Stew Festival so special?? All of the stews you will sample on Saturday are made from scratch onsite! Stew Masters gather at midnight onsite the night before the competition to prepare stews, then serve you the freshest stews. Stew available for purchase by the sample or by the quart. Make sure you get there early before the quarts run out! Stew Crews will be competing in two categories: Best Traditional Brunswick Stew and Best Original Stew. First place prizes for both categories is $1000, and second place prizes for both categories is $500. Stews are complimented by a fine selection of stouts and a range of other beers. Live music.

Held on Dec. 31, the annual event will begin with a family-friendly celebration at Pembroke Mall, then continue with entertainment at The Town Center of Virginia Beach and culminate with a live performance by a national headliner.
