February 19, 2016  WBCA Jalapeño Festival - Laredo, Texas
The one-and-only original Jalapeño Fesitval celebrates its 38th anniversary where the world renowned Jalapeño Eating contest will crown a new champion. In addition there's a cook-off with the chef's using the Jalapeño as the central ingredient. (Washington's Birthday Celebration Association)

February 25-27, 2016  World's Championship Bar-B-Que
Houston, Texas
You won't want to miss the biggest pre-party to the world's largest livestock show and rodeo. More than 250 teams led by barbecue aficionados will compete in a traditional Texas cook-off.  While most team tents are invitation-only, visitors can enjoy the public venues including the Miller Lite Garden, Rockin' Bar-B-Que Saloon and the Chuck Wagon, where you receive a complimentary chopped beef sandwich plate.  Come enjoy three days of cooking, competition, eating and dancing!

February 28, 2016  Cochon555 - Houston, Texas
Cochon555, the signature culinary competition featuring five chefs cooking five heritage breed pigs in a friendly competition for a cause.  The tour is dedicated to helping Piggy Bank create the first open-source agriculture platform for heritage species while raising global awareness for socially responsible farming. The event unites consumers with local farmers, renowned chefs, prominent winemakers, restaurateurs, craft brewers and distillers in each city for a nose-to-tail culinary showdown celebrating family farms. At each event, 500 guests including notable judges will vote for the best bite amongst 2,000 pounds of awesomeness and the winning chef will be announced the “Princess or Prince of Porc”. On June 18th, the ten regional winners of Cochon555 fly to Aspen/Snowmass to compete at Grand Cochon, a spotlight of 10 chefs, 10 pigs and the best 30 bites from tour. The winner of the grand finale walks away with the crown and title of “2016 King or Queen of Porc”.

6th Annual Kosher Chili Cookoff
Houston, Texas
The Kosher Chili Cookoff is the largest kosher food event in Houston and celebrates  the fellowship of the Jewish community with a day of food, live entertainment, contests, and family friendly activities while raising funds for non-profit organizations in the Houston Jewish Community. The cookoff attracts more than 3,500 attendees annually for live music, a moonwalk, climbing walls, balloon artists, a jalapeno eating contest and a silent auction as they taste some of Houston's best kosher chili.

The Border Beer Fest is Laredo’s first ever beer celebration event.  With an endless supply of music, food, and beer, this is one of Laredo, Texas premiere parties.
