April 22, 2023 Tatum Pecan Pie Festival - Tatum, Texas Annual Pecan Pie Festival. The whole idea began with the intention to host a mobile cancer screening center in our town. In order to have a venue for the screening center, a handful of dedicated Tatumites organized the festival. We intend to host the cancer screening center each year. We want to be known as the place to come for the best pecan pies in East Texas and where you can get your annual breast cancer screening. Come out and join us for the fun and food.

April 28-30, 2023 Chicken Fried Steak Festival - Lamesa, Texas The "Legendary Home of the Chicken Fried Steak". The City of Lamesa celebrates this declaration each year on the last weekend of April by having a fun-filled weekend and cook-off competition. This year's CFS Festival kicks off on Friday night with a handmade chicken-fried steak dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a roll. Saturday's Highlight is the Chicken Fried Steak Cookoff Competition. Contestants start at 10:00 and must turn in their entry by noon to the Judges table.
