April 4, 2012  Dining Out in Dallas 'Battle of the Chefs' - Dallas, Texas
Come join the fun as select chefs from the finest Dallas restaurants battle it out to be voted as the crowd favorite.  Dining Out In Dallas is the signature fundraising event for the Texas Neurofibromatosis Foundation, raising over $1,000,000 since 1995.

April 13-15, 2012  Poteet Strawberry Festival - Poteet, Texas
One of the oldest, most popular events in the state and is recognized as the largest agricultural festival in Texas

April 14, 2012  Swamp Thing and Crawfish Festival - Buda, Texas
Food & Music. This popular Louisiana themed event features the best in Louisiana cuisine. Enjoy an extensive menu of Cajun seafood. The highlight of the show is 5,000 pounds of jumbo crawfish and other bayou favorites. Entertainment, music.

April 14, 2012  Côtes du Coeur Int’l Fine Wine Auction & Celebrity Chef Dinner - Dallas, TX
16 chefs, a tasting menu and wine pairing from 32 elite wineries.  Multicourse fine dining created around a specific wine varietal for each dish. Live auction of one-of-a-kind experiences & a silent auction of more than 2,000 wines. One of the top 7 galas for the American Heart Association.

April 14, 2012  Alvin Kiwanis Crawfest-Shrimp Boil Festival - Alvin, Texas
Great crawfish, excellent gumbo, boiled shrimp, assortment of desserts are available to please the palette. Crafts, Entertainment, etc.

April 14-15, 2012  Spring Fling - Food Truck Rally - Grand Prairie, Texas
Traders Village flies into spring with a new event featuring fun for everyone in the family. There will be a Gourmet Food Truck Rally, live music with the Dennis Cavalier Band, face painting and more. Then on Sunday an appearance by Spider-Man from 1p to 3 p.

April 17, 2012  Houston Press Menu of Menus Extravaganza - Houston, Texas
Featuring the Iron Fork Chef Competition, the event will showcase the culinary talents of our city with food sampling from over 30 area restaurants alongside wine, beer and spirit sampling.  Guests must be 21+. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Kids' Meals.

April 19-22, 2012  2012 Galveston Island Food & Wine Festival - Galveston, Texas
Galveston Island prepares for a four-day festival with of over 100 wines, 22 vineyards, 11 restaurants, art and jewelry vendors and wine enthusiasts from across the state. This year's theme, Wines from Around the World, is sure to make Galveston worth the trip.

This 42nd annual event features history-based ranch activities and demonstrations, samples of chuck wagon food, and live cattle in the shipping pens. Also enjoy music and period dance demonstration. National Ranching Heritage Center.

April 28, 2012  Texas Beer Fest - Humble, Texas
This daylong celebration features beer tasting and pairings with Texas-made food.

April 28-29, 2012  Texas Barbecue Festival - Vidor, Texas
Features a barbecue cook-off, vendors, carnival, live entertainment and dancing, classic car show, games and more. Last weekend in April each year.

Cooking teams compete for $5,000 in cash prizes by displaying their talents with a salute to the official state dish. Free, continuous activities all day long. And don’t miss the granddaddy of them all “The World Championship of Pickled Quail Egg Eating”. Where contestants see how many jalapeno soaked quail eggs they can eat in 60-seconds.
