9th Annual Kosher Chili Cookoff
Houston, Texas
12-4pm at Beth Yeshurun Synagogue.  The Kosher Chili Cookoff is the largest kosher food event in Houston and celebrates  the fellowship of the Jewish community with a day of food, live entertainment, contests, and family friendly activities while raising funds for non-profit organizations in the Houston Jewish Community. The cookoff attracts more than 3,500 attendees annually for live music, a moonwalk, climbing walls, balloon artists, a jalapeno eating contest and a silent auction as they taste some of Houston's best kosher chili.

March 3-22, 2020  Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo - Houston, Texas
Agriculture, horse show, livestock show, wine show, and concerts.

March 5-7, 2020  National Coffee Association Annual Convention
Austin, Texas

March 5-8, 2020  41st Annual Fulton Oysterfest - Fulton, Texas
Each year the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department sponsors Oysterfest, a salute to the tasty bi-valve found in our local waters. Oysterfest features carnival rides, games, food, an oyster eating contest, live music, unique vendor booths and most of all - FUN.

March 8, 2020 - 11th Annual Paella Challenge - San Antonio, Texas
Join fellow epicureans for a beautiful afternoon featuring distinguished Chefs from San Antonio, across the United States and Mexico, live entertainment, wines from Spain, and sangria at Mission County Park. Watch as chefs and high school teams go head-to-head in competition to create the most impressive paella dishes cooked right before your eyes.

 

March 12-22, 2020 - 81st Annual Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show
Mercedes, Texas
The Show now ranks as one of the top ten in the State. People from all over Texas eagerly anticipate the event and come to enjoy the many activities including a parade, rodeos, competitive livestock events and the many, many attractions which are scheduled daily.

March 13-15, 2020  62nd Annual Rattlesnake Roundup
Sweetwater, Texas
Started in 1958, the Sweetwater Jaycee's World's Largest Rattlesnake Round-Up is hosted annually in Sweetwater Texas the second weekend in March at the Nolan County Coliseum in Newman Park.  (also: www.sweetwatertexas.org/)

March 19, 2020  San Antonio Flavor - San Antonio, Texas
Tastier than ever, San Antonio Flavor returns to the San Antonio Museum of Art.  Sample bites from 30+ local restaurants in various cuisines, enjoy craft beer and wine, signature cocktails and a live Culinary Showdown, starring four top San Antonio chefs and celebs. Live music, beats by SoundCream, Contemporary Art Month art installations, and more.

March 20-21, 2020 - 34th Annual Bluebonnet Brew-Off
Irving, Texas
The Bluebonnet Brew-off is one of the largest single site homebrew competitions in the United States.  Friday evening will showcase Local and Regional Professional Brewers and their offerings. Saturday, we will showcase the Local and Regional Homebrew Clubs and their offerings; homebrewers are encouraged to re-brew a winning beer from last year’s Bluebonnet or bring one that was entered this year, as we will have special recognition for these brewers.

March 21-22, 2020  Big Mamou Cajun Festival - Grand Prairie, Texas

March 28, 2020  Texas Onion Fest - Weslaco, Texas
Celebrates the world-famous Texas 1015 Onion developed in Weslaco. There is lots of new stuff to see! On Saturday, the festivities will kick off with live music on two stages and the lively "Onion Eating Contests". The fun will last all day with music performances on the Main Stage, a Kids Zone, two performances by the Dancing Horses, Arts & Crafts, cooking demonstrations at the Culinary Center, and so much more. Viva La Onion!

March 9, 2019
8th annual 'Sizzling in the Tropics' BBQ Cook-off
McAllen, Texas
The cook-off will feature 30 of our local BBQ Cook-off teams competing to see who creates the best Chicken Wings, Pulled Pork, Ribs, Brisket, Charro Beans and Pan de Campo.  Attendees can sample all the meats plus enjoy a beverage garden and live music performed by four local bands.  The cook-off will also feature a classic car show by the South Texas MOPAR Car Club.  Anyone wanting to attend only the “Sizzling in the Tropics” BBQ Cook-off can attend for $20.  Children 10 and under accompanied by an adult eat free!

March 9-10, 2019
Shrimp Fest - Grand Prairie, Texas
The Traders Village SHRIMP FEST Returns.  Combine choices of boiled shrimp, shrimp gumbo, or shrimp etouffee with music from the popular Cajun band “Crawfish” and you have a fun filled weekend.  Shrimp Fest will be held under the Big Red Patio next to the Family Entertainment rides and games area. The food will be served starting at 11:00 a.m. and the music starts each day at 12 noon.  Shrimp Fest has something for the whole family. After eating delicious food and enjoying the music of “Crawfish” buy an All Day Ride wristband for just $12.99 or shop in one of America’s largest flea markets.  Admission is FREE and parking is just $4.00.

March 16, 2019 - 17th Annual Wild Hog Explosion - Bandera, Texas
Features team competition for all ages in wild-hog catching, a pork rib barbecue cook-off, arts & crafts, piggy pictures and more. Proceeds benefit the Kronkosky Library of Bandera Co.

March 21, 2019 - Annual Keels and Wheels Uncorked - Houston, Texas
The Keels & Wheels Uncorked will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at The Lone Star Flight Museum.  Guests are invited to attend alongside Master of Ceremonies Radio Host Sam Malone for an elegant evening of fine wines and exceptional food presented by some of Houston's top restaurants. On display at the event will be several classic automobiles, as well as a vintage wooden boat.  The event serves as a fundraiser for Today's Harbor for Children.

March 30, 2019  Vino Palooza - Fort Worth, Texas
Wine and Music Festival. Each festival offers complimentary tastings from more than 20 wineries (as well as samples of local craft beers, spirits and small bites), and unplugged performances by major 'Top 40' music artists; benefiting local non-profit organizations.

Wine and Music Festival. Each festival offers complimentary tastings from more than 20 wineries (as well as samples of local craft beers, spirits and small bites), and unplugged performances by major 'Top 40' music artists; benefiting local non-profit organizations.

March 31, 2019  Cochon555 - Austin, Texas
5 - 7:30 pm.  Cochon555, the nation’s acclaimed culinary, wine and spirit celebration in support of charity and education, is celebrating 10 years during their 2019 nationwide tour. The events will feature more than 100 prominent chefs, farmers, sommeliers, distillers, brewers, and barkeeps all working to create luxurious moments that educate the palate. The tour stated in Dallas and culiminates with the national finale, Grand Cochon, in Chicago. At each stop on the tour, five notable chefs are tasked with preparing a 200-pound pig and presenting a "Judge's Plate" that will be scored by celebrity judges and participants. The winner of each local competition will advance to the finale in September.
