March 18, 2023 Annual Bluebonnet Brew-Off - Dallas, Texas Bluebonnet Home Brew Competition and Conference! Expect some changes, along with a brand new venue. First of all, this is a craft beer and home brew event, so you can expect lots of both! The Big Thirsty Hospitality room will be running Saturday afternoon, giving you a change to sample a rotating selection of local commercial beers. The event also features several pub crawl bus options, along with some exciting technical speakers. On Saturday evening, the Bluebonnet awards ceremony will reveal the winners of the largest volunteer-run homebrew competition in the country, and then area home brew teams will begin offering their wares to sample and vote on in the People’s Choice homebrew expo, our marquee event.
March 19, 2023 Annual Kosher Chili Cookoff - Houston, Texas 12-4pm at Beth Yeshurun Synagogue. The Kosher Chili Cookoff is the largest kosher food event in Houston and celebrates the fellowship of the Jewish community with a day of food, live entertainment, contests, and family friendly activities while raising funds for non-profit organizations in the Houston Jewish Community. The cookoff attracts more than 3,500 attendees annually for live music, a moonwalk, climbing walls, balloon artists, a jalapeno eating contest and a silent auction as they taste some of Houston's best kosher chili.

March 9-10, 2019 - Shrimp Fest - Grand Prairie, Texas The Traders Village SHRIMP FEST Returns. Combine choices of boiled shrimp, shrimp gumbo, or shrimp etouffee with music from the popular Cajun band “Crawfish” and you have a fun filled weekend. Shrimp Fest will be held under the Big Red Patio next to the Family Entertainment rides and games area. The food will be served starting at 11:00 a.m. and the music starts each day at 12 noon. March 31, 2019 Cochon555 - Austin, Texas 5 - 7:30 pm. Cochon555, the nation’s acclaimed culinary, wine and spirit celebration in support of charity and education, is celebrating 10 years during their 2019 nationwide tour. The events will feature more than 100 prominent chefs, farmers, sommeliers, distillers, brewers, and barkeeps all working to create luxurious moments that educate the palate. The tour stated in Dallas and culiminates with the national finale, Grand Cochon, in Chicago. At each stop on the tour, five notable chefs are tasked with preparing a 200-pound pig and presenting a "Judge's Plate" that will be scored by celebrity judges and participants. The winner of each local competition will advance to the finale in September.
