Luzerne County Fairgrounds. VIP entry begins at 12 Noon and General Admission is 1-6. We are the same community favorite wine and dine festival with a new name, Dallas Rotary Wine and Brew Fest. Many of our favorite wine, food and craft vendors are returning this year and we are pleased to add several local craft brewers to our vendors! Plus, this year we’ll have a mini-bus that will be available to shuttle patrons up and down the main entrance hill. The bus is provided by our friends at Davis Transportation. Festivities begin with the 'BBQ Capital of Texas' Championship & Chili Cook-Off. There is a Cowboy Breakfast around a Chuck Wagon on the Courthouse square. The fun skyrockets when we move out to the Lockhart City Park where there is a Carnival, full event Rodeo, Queen's Court Coronation, Awesome Auction, food & craft vendors, and LIVE MUSIC on two stages. Kuykendahl Gran Brewers Homebrew Club. The Big Batch Brew Bash is the KGB's signature homebrew competition. Begun in 1996, it has grown into the largest single-style homebrew competition in the history of humankind. Impressive, but don't ask for documentation or a certificate from the world record folks at Guinness. It is also noted for being sanctioned by the American Homebrewers Association and free to enter. Melon Growing & Eating Contests, Music, Midway, Food, Arts & Crafts, Car Show, and More. Champion Watermelon award is given to the largest Black Diamond watermelon grown according to the grower's association rules. The top entries in the Melon Contest are sold at auction. The Champion melon has brought between $400 and $22,500. Part of the proceeds from the auction support student scholarships.
