Troy Restaurant & Craft Beer Week - Troy, New York
Every September the City of Troy and the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District host a City-wide Restaurant Week. Restaurant weeks have become wildly popular in many cities across the country; now it's our turn!  Participating restaurants offer special prix-fix menus at up to three different price points, $5, $10, $20 and $30, during the week-long event, so there is something for everyone!

September 28, 2019 - 8th Annual Pour the Core: Hard Cider Festival
East Islip, New York
Hard Cider Festival to Feature Apple Cider Donut Eating Contest.  The Festival will be returning to Long Island - this year with new cider producers and what will surely be a contest to remember! The festival will be held from 12:30pm to 4:00pm at Heckscher State Park, East Islip, NY. Attendees will enjoy refreshing and delicious samples from local, national and international cider producers, more than 75 ciders in all!  Pour the Core will proudly showcase locally made ciders such as Woodside Hard Ciders (Aquebogue), Furnace Spicy Hard Cider (Sag Harbor) and festival first-timer Riverhead Ciderhouse (Calverton), among them. Buffalo, New York
Includes the U.S. Chicken Wing Eating Championships and National Wing Sauce-Off Competition.  Celebrity Chef Challenge, sponsored by Frank”s RedHot Cayenne Pepper Sauce, the sauce used to create the original Buffalo Wings in 1964.   Attendance: 51,000.

The festival was created to bring the community together and provide a public venue for not-for-profit organizations. People from all over Central New York come to enjoy the great food, music, crafts, and entertainment for the whole family.  Donations from TomatoFest each year enable local food pantries to provide more than 10,000 meals to Cayuga County residents. September 15-16 & 22-23, 2018 - 176th Long Island Fair
Old Bethpage, New York
The Long Island Fair takes place with thousands of exhibits competing for blue ribbons in categories such as culinary, horticulture, live stock and needlework. There will also be jugglers, magic and puppet shows and craft demonstrations with live concerts and dancing. Local lumberjacks will be demonstrating crosscut sawing and log rolling contests.  The Old Bethpage Village restoration is a 209 acre recreated living museum village with dozens of historical structures that include barns, and an old fashion general store. It is the official site of the Long Island Fair, which originally was in Mineola and dates back to 1842 in Queens, before Nassau County was formed.

"Prominence is given to the contribution of women throughout the exhibition, not only as the primary consumers and users of the domestic kitchen, but also as reformers, architects, designers, and as artists who have critically addressed kitchen culture and myths."
