November 5, 2016 - 9th Annual International Great Beer Expo
Long Island, New York
The Long Island Great Beer Expo returns to Belmont Park Racetrack, home of the third and final leg of the triple crown of horse racing, on Saturday, November 5, 2016.  The annual Great Beer Expo will once again offer over 100 beers for sampling with a pay-one-price admission ticket.  The racetrack at Belmont Park is located at 2150 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, NY 11003.  Tickets are on-sale now and selling quickly.  Like year's past, another sell-out is expected.

November 5, 2016  Ithaca Brunch Festival - Ithaca, New York
A fun day of bites, bevs, music, and games 11am to 4pm on the Ithaca Commons.  We are aiming to channel energy from past food and beverage journeys (i.e. Oktoberfest) and offer a new opportunity for the community to break bread and discover the latest offerings from local businesses. Brunch often is more than the meal itself, it is a chance for people to try something new, catch up, and have fun.  Event Attendees- Performance schedule and event details are coming soon!  The festival is free to attend. You can expect $2 and $5 bites, full meals, activities, live music, a Bloody Mary MIx-Off (sample tickets will be sold), Brunch Bar, and a chance to get a limited edition Gimme Coffee Downtown Ithaca blend!

November 6-8, 2016  148th Salon of Culinary Art - New York, New York
We regret to inform you that our Annual Salon of Culinary Arts at the Javits Center originally scheduled for November 2016 will not take place this year. The Société Culinaire Philanthropique is currently seeking new sponsorship and plans to hold its culinary show in 2017.

November 7-13, 2016  New York Champagne Week - New York, NY
New York Champagne Week will take place at a variety of haute venues across NYC.  The food and beverage industry and general bubbly lovin’ public alike will relish in a slew of sparkling events including but certainly not limited to exclusive Champagne tastings, the wildly popular Champagne Cocktail Competition, bubbly pop up parties and special happy hours at the city’s hottest restos.  The passionate purpose behind New York Champagne Week is to showcase the approachability and highlight the diversity that bubbly has to offer across a variety of spectrums.

November 11, 2016  Self Help Africa's 7th Annual Change Maker's Ball
Chelsea Piers, Pier Sixty NYC, New York
Held to benefit Self Help Africa's projects in nine countries across African, the black-tie event, which includes a gourmet meal, open bar, a seven-piece band along with live and silent auctions.  Stars from the entertainment world, many of whom appeared to support Self Help Africa's fundraising efforts in Manhattan earlier this year, are expected at the event.

November 12, 2016  13th Annual Beer and Wine Festival
Ellicottville, New York
Holiday Valley Resort, the Ellicottville Brewing Company and Southern Tier Brewery will host the Annual Beer and Wine Festival at Holiday Valley Lodge.  Guests will be able to sample a variety of hand-crafted beers from over 30 of the best New York State and American craft breweries and wines from New York, Southern Ontario and Ellicottville vintners.

The Shawangunk Wine Trail’s Holiday Event. All 14 member wineries will be decorated and awaiting your visit. Wine Lovers of NYC will initiate a monthly program of Sunday afternoon tastings at Pierre Loti Chelsea, one of the best wine bars in New York. Each tasting will focus on different  regions and/or varietal types. Some tastings will be walk-around, others will be seated and guided by a well-known wine expert. Most of the wines presented will be readily available for purchase at a local wine shop.  The first tasting will be a walk-around tasting of 10 Old World wines from France, Italy and Spain, with a dessert Tokaij wine from Hungary. I'll post the exact wine list in a few days. And there will also be selected cheeses and charcuterie paired with the wines.  This will be a great way to spend an autumn afternoon with fellow wine lovers in a lovely atmosphere.  As a special treat, Pierre Loti will give you an 10% discount on your next visit to any of their wine bars.

Chef’s Secrets is a wine and food tasting event boasting some of the most sensational culinary dishes and beverages anyone could ever encounter. Tasting stations and beverage tables are set up throughout the mansion where guests can alternate through the many rooms where colorful and aromatic dishes are prepared right in front of your eyes, by some of the most renowned chefs on Long Island.  An auction boasting champagne taste items in carefully wrapped baskets for a steal starting price brings out the dreamers and deal seekers.  Chef’s Secrets is not just an event; it’s an experience to remember. Each year the Long Island Network of Community Services, Inc. (LINCS) hosts this outstanding charity event, attended by hundreds of guests at the de Seversky Mansion in Old Westbury. Proceeds raised help fund programs for the Long Island Association for AIDS Care, Inc. (LIAAC).
