Enjoy an evening of German dinner and drink at the German-American Club of Albany at our German Bierfest. Doors open at 5:00 PM. German Lagers, Pilsners, Bocks, and Hefeweizens will be available. Since 1973. From 37th Street to 57th Street, Ninth Avenue closes to cars and the festival takes over. It's unique and amazing, celebrating the joys of ethnicity through food, entertainment and every kind of street fair stall. Most street fairs in New York all look the same but this one stands out. May 1, 2012  Flavors of the City - New York, New York
'Flavors of the City' is a food tasting charity event hosted by Follow That Girl NYC, an organization that empowers women to empower others. The event was created to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse and to benefit Socks 4 Tots, a not for profit organization that offers assistance to domestic abuse victims and their families.  Advance  tickets for $125 or at the door for $150. A select number of advance VIP tickets are also available for $500 and will include a private open bar, tasting platters, a copy of Taylor Armstrong's book, a meet and greet with Taylor Armstrong and Chefs Alex Garcia and Joe JJ Johnson, an exclusive box of chocolates by Emanuel Andren, and a VIP Gift Bag. May 2, 2012  How Food Systems Shape Cities - New York, New York and the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University will debut their first seminar in an educational series entitled: Transforming Cities How Food Systems Shape Cities.   Participants in the event will have the opportunity to savour locally prepared foods and learn from such notables as Carolyn Steel, author of Hungry City; Brian Halweil: Editor Edible East End, Publisher, Edible Brooklyn and Edible Manhattan, to Adam Freed, Deputy Director, NYC Mayor's Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability.

Join Leake & Watts and Bravo’s “Top Chef” contestants Dave Martin and Andrea Beaman for an exciting evening of delicious food! Guests will enjoy a celebrity chef demonstration and cook-off as they sample the chefs’ recipes and a variety of wines. Demonstration will feature students from the Leake & Watts Culinary Arts Training program at Biondi High School as sous chefs and judges.  Leake & Watts is a not-for-profit agency committed to addressing a myriad of challenges that confront individuals and families dealing with poverty, disabilities, and a lack of access to education and basic services.
