May 1, 2015  11th Annual Global Food & Wine Experience

Unlike any other food and wine event, BCAGlobal incorporates culinary and hospitality students into the event experience as a part of the mentoring focus it fosters. The organization seeks to expose young culinary professionals of color to opportunities and career professionals that will aid in the advancement of their careers.  More than 50 culinary students will work closely with some of New York’s premier industry professionals as they prepare to unveil the latest trends and flavors in food and wine for the event.  Attendees will enjoy culinary samples paired with wine from select restaurants, winemakers, distributors and outlets from around the world.

Art de Vivre: Wine Tour de France with Food & Wine Magazine.  To celebrate the eighth annual Wine Tour de France, FIAF partners with Food & Wine magazine to take a new look at the art of French wine-making. This series of three tastings, curated by Food & Wine executive wine editor Ray Isle and featuring some of New York’s top sommeliers, will delight oenophiles of all levels. SSWNYC is a culinary-fueled celebration showcasing the efforts of local fishermen, chefs, organizations and communities to promote responsible sourcing of seafood.  With a successful debut in 2013, this year's 2nd Annual festivities have only gotten bigger and better!  For 2014, we have worked with many amazing partners to produce a week's worth of unique event collaborations to bring everyone one step closer to the sea -- spanning parties, tastings, dinners, workshops. Along with ticketed events open to the public, we'll be expanding on last year's industry panel to include even more programming geared towards anyone that's a stakeholder in the sustainable seafood discussion, including restaurant professionals, seafood purveyors, and scientists.

Returning for a third voyage on the Intrepid, The Village Voice is proud to present our third annual Choice Streets Food Truck tasting event on May 7, 2014 (rain date May 9) from 7:00 – 11:00 PM. 1,300 ticketholders will be presented with a exclusive tasting passport to gain access to over 20 of some of the city's favorite and highly sought-after food trucks. We have decided to forego Long Island Craft Beer Week 2014.  We are already working on LICBW 2015.  The plan is to make LICBW 2015 an unforgettable week for Long Island Craft Beer and Long Island Craft Beer Fans.

May 10, 2014  Rip Van Winkle Wine & Cheese Festival - Catskill, NY
The annual event will have a variety of wineries offering tastings and wine sales, as well as vendors selling cheeses, honey, jams, sauces, jewelry, crafts and more. All proceeds to benefit the Village of Catskill Parks.May 17, 2014  Bierfest - Albany, New York
Enjoy an evening of German dinner and drink at the German-American Club of Albany at our German Bierfest. Doors open at 5:00 PM. German Lagers, Pilsners, Bocks, and Hefeweizens will be available. May 17-18, 2014  9th Avenue Int’l Food Festival - New York, New York
Since 1973. From 37th Street to 57th Street, Ninth Avenue closes to cars and the festival takes over. It's unique and amazing, celebrating the joys of ethnicity through food, entertainment and every kind of street fair stall. Most street fairs in New York all look the same but this one stands out. The food is the big draw, but the festival is a fabulous expression of the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood – teeming with ethnic food shops and fine restaurants and offering an eclectic global smorgasbord of national and regional foods. Attendance: 1 million.

May 20, 2014  The New Taste of Sunnyside
Sunnyside, Queens, New York
Attendees at the Taste of Sunnyside will sample some of the best of Sunnyside’s food and drink from more than 25 local restaurants participating in the event.  Where else can you try lobster mac & cheese, Colombian kernel corn, Romanian hors d’oeuvres, smoked meatballs and seitan with vegan mole poblano, all at the same event?  The Taste of Sunnyside celebrates the neighborhood’s fantastic and delicious food culture.  We hope you will attend!

Bellmore, New York
Catch all the fun and excitement at the annual festival hosted by the Lions and Kiwanis Clubs of the Bellmores. May 31, 2014  5th Annual Southern Tier Craft Beer and BBQ Festival
Big Flats, New York
The Festival features a Brewers Exhibition and Tasting, Amateur BBQ Cook-Off,  Live Entertainment, Arts & Crafts Vendors and the Blessing of the Beers.  Craft Beer Tasting tickets include festival admittance. So if you purchase a Craft Beer Tasting ticket you do not need to purchase an admittance ticket.  Craft Beer tickets are $33.00 on the day of the Festival.

May 31-June 1, 2014  Seneca Lake Wine and Food - Watkins Glen, NY
Seneca Lake Wine and Food will celebrate and highlight the best the Seneca Lake area has to offer. Over 50 wine and food vendors will be in attendance for you to sample.  Live music and cooking demonstrations will also be a part of the event for you to enjoy.

May 2, 2012  How Food Systems Shape Cities - New York, New York and the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University will debut their first seminar in an educational series entitled: Transforming Cities How Food Systems Shape Cities.   Participants in the event will have the opportunity to savour locally prepared foods and learn from such notables as Carolyn Steel, author of Hungry City; Brian Halweil: Editor Edible East End, Publisher, Edible Brooklyn and Edible Manhattan, to Adam Freed, Deputy Director, NYC Mayor's Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability.
