Welcome to the New Empire Brewfest.  We are building New York's first Summer Craft Beer Festival.  Chevy Court on the New York State Fairgrounds.  What else is new?  Ticket options and pricing, 6 more bands, more, better food, more, better vendors and now, VIP Suites.  Just today we sold one suite to a group of 100 and another one to a group of 20.  We are on the record:  our goal is to create one of the summers top 10 summer craft beer festivals in America.

Rochester, New York
Real Beer Week is a weeklong series of craft beer related events including tastings, food and beer pairings and dinners, socials, concerts, and craft beer launches. The Rochester Real Beer Expo will start the week.

 

June 11, 2016  Pour The Core: Hard Cider Festival, Brooklyn
Brooklyn, New York
Mark your calendars to explore the ever-expanding world of hard ciders and perries (ciders made from pears) as you join thousands of your fellow fans in tasting over 75 ciders from more than 40 different local and international cider companies.  The big apple will be represented through New York City's own Big Apple Hard Cider and Descendant Cider.  Well known best-sellers Woodchuck Cider and Angry Orchard will also be pouring their products, plus imported international flavors will be present via England's Strongbow, Germany's Possman, and Sweden's Rekorderlig, among others.  Throughout each session of the event, seminars will be conducted from well known industry experts and pros covering topics such as cider styles, cider making, and cider cocktails.  Food will be available to purchase via some of New York City's favorite food trucks serving some of the finest street foods. The festival will help raise funds for non-profit organization KiDS NEED MoRE. Tickets are on sale at PourTheCore.com/Brooklyn  for $45 each, and include admission into the festival, a souvenir five-ounce tasting cup sponsored by Woodchuck Hard Cider, two-ounce pour samples from all participating ciders, and access to cider seminars. Tickets are valid only for the session which they are purchased. Designated Driver tickets are available for $12 and will include admission, seminar access, and a bottle of water. No one under 21 will be admitted.

The anchor event of the Rochester Real Beer Week is the Annual Rochester Beer Expo.  Local business owners from the award-winning South Wedge neighborhood have joined forces through the Business Association of the South Wedge Area (BASWA) to bring you a street party with over 80 of the most exciting craft beers currently available.

June 11-12, 2016  36th Annual Strawberry Festival
Forestville, New York
A celebration of the area”s strawberry harvest. Fresh strawberry shortcake, chocolate dipped strawberries & Festival wine. Food, wine, draft beer and Merritt's Sangria Wine Slush. Free wine tours & tastings. Classic car cruise, live music, craft vendors, dancing. Hosted by Merrit Estate Winery, each year working with a different non-profit organization to raise money for its cause.

Mattituck, New York
The festival has music, carnival, raffle, coloring contest display, fresh local strawberries, arts and crafts, international food court, vendors, games, and much more.  By late June on the North Fork the strawberry crop is reaching its peak and bursting with flavor. On Father's Day weekend, at the peak of the strawberry harvest, the Mattituck Lions Club brings the community together for a special weekend of fun and purpose. Whether you're here year-round, are a seasonal resident or are drawn here by the Festival, you're in for a wonderful time – all while raising money for local non-profits!

June 17-18, 2016  36th Annual Owego Strawberry Festival
Owego, New York
Food, entertainment, contests, wine tent, and 20,000 people enjoying the day. Friday night includes entertainment, food and fireworks.  Held on the closed streets of downtown Owego, NY.  Lots of excitement is planned for this year's Festival! The usual attractions like "Straw Dawgs Strut Their Stuff" Contest, Children's Bounce House, a zillion runners at the 5K Race and Kids' 1 Mile Run , a Miss/Mrs. Strawberry Pageant, Wine/Beer/Spirit Tasting, Rubber Ducky Derby, lots of great entertainment and a few surprises.  And, of course, YOU!   There will be plenty of great food and a fantastic array of arts and crafts.  Over 200 vendors and artisans will line the streets downtown.

June 3-20, 2015  The Economy of Food - Bronx, New York
The Bronx River Art Center (BRAC).  At BRAC's temporary gallery space at 305 East 140th St. Bronx, N.Y.  This is the third of an extensive two-year production of ten exhibitions that will run through 2016, collectively called Food Systems, Surroundings & Sensibilities.  The Economy of Food analyzes the economics of the food system, the complex operation sustaining our lives, from farm or factory to our kitchen table. The exhibition addresses the economies of food production, trade and food distribution, food consumption, and recycling the system's aftermath. Artists participating in the exhibition are responding to this universal issue with installations, photography, performance and video works, raising questions on issues such as corporate vs. sustainable farming, undocumented immigrants and child labor in food production, local food distribution in the Bronx, the new geopolitics of food, multinational food culture, commercial and creative recycling of food waste and packaging, and attempts to balance low budgets while providing nutrition and feeding our families in "the hungriest borough in NYC".

June 10 - July 1, 2015 Grand Central Oyster Bar's Herring Festival

The Dutch Herring are back! Herring lovers will enjoy the season for less than a month. The Herring is flown in air expressed Grand Central Oyster Bar from Scheveningen, The Netherlands, on the North Sea where the herring fleet makes its home. Bringing together three of America's favorite crafts at one amazing venue, the lakefront community of Wilson NY. Blues competition features bands that put the soul into blues, commercial brews go head to head to take home the Big Daddy Brew trophy, and both professional and backyard BBQ cooks pit their skills against other barbeque chefs.

June 22-28, 2015  Sustainable Seafood Week NYC - New York, New York
SSWNYC is a culinary-fueled celebration showcasing the efforts of local fishermen, chefs, organizations and communities to promote responsible sourcing of seafood.  We have worked with many amazing partners to produce a week's worth of unique event collaborations to bring everyone one step closer to the sea -- spanning parties, tastings, dinners, workshops. Along with ticketed events open to the public, we'll be expanding on last year's industry panel to include even more programming geared towards anyone that's a stakeholder in the sustainable seafood discussion, including restaurant professionals, seafood purveyors, and scientists.

June 5, 2014  Slow Food NYC's 3rd Annual Fundraiser - New York, NY
Simply the best party of the year! The Slow Food NYC Annual Fundraiser, the (s)low down, will feature some of the best food and drink artisans in New York City along with one-of-a-kind auction and raffle prizes and live bluegrass music. This year we'll be honoring Chef Peter Hoffman with our third annual Snailblazer Award. We hope to see you there.

June 14-15, 2014  Around the World - Hudson Valley, New York

7th Annual Chicken Wing Festival with people's choice judging for best wings. Free all day play for kids, live entertainment, market place vendors, thousands of chicken wings, other foods available,  beer,chicken wing eating contest - A great family fun day.

June 21-23, 2013  Brockport BBQ & Music Festival - Brockport, New York
Unfortunately we are not hosting an event in 2014. Thanks to all that supported the event in the past and allowed us to contribute so generously to the Wilmot Cancer Center and other local charities.

June 28-30, 2013  Western NY BBQ & Music Festival - Hamburg, NY
Presented by the Patchin Fire Company of Boston, New York, a not for profit organization comprised of men and women working together  making our community a better place to live.  The  Festival is a barbeque  competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, the largest BBQ sanctioning body in the world as well as the New England BBQ Society.  This high profile three day event features BBQ food vendors, music, rides, classic car show.  Competition  includes...Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned BBQ Contest & New England Barbecue Society (NEBS) sanctioned Grilling Contest.

June 29, 2013  Chenango Wine Festival 2013 - Norwich, New York

This is a celebration of Long Island grown strawberries, benefiting Long Island Children's Hospital. Activities include local musicians, children's entertainment and games, strawberry shortcake eating contest, as well as craft and food vendors.

June 26-27, 2012  The Bar & Restaurant Show - New York, New York
A trade event located in the heart of New York City. The largest gathering of sampling and tasting of premium wines, spirits, and beverages, with celebrity chefs, exclusively for the food and beverage professional.

June 28, 2012  Eating Planet Book Launch & Panel Discussion - NY, NY
On June 28, the Worldwatch Institute's Nourishing the Planet project and the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition will launch the new book Eating Planet: Challenge for Mankind and the Planet. The book examines the paradoxes of the global food system, the cultural value of food, production and consumption trends, and the effects of individual eating habits on health and on the environment.  The event will include the panel discussion "How do we feed (and also nourish) a planet of 7 billion?"
