Plate by Plate is the premier annual food and wine charity and fundraising event benefitting Project by Project. Each year, the event showcases New York City's premier restaurants and is attended by over 550 food and wine loving guests who look forward to sampling what the city's best has to offer.

A weekend celebration of food, fun and the fall. The event has farmers, wineries, bakeries, crafters, food vendors, an apple pie eating competition, apples, apples and more apples. October 10, 2015  NY Smoke and Fire Food Fest - Pomona, New York
The 3rd annual Smoke-and-Fire Food and Music Festival will take place at Provident Bank Park in Pomona, New York. Sponsored by Rockland County Tourism, the event will run from 11 AM to 6 PM in the park's covered pavilion. Admission is $7 per person (kids under age 5 are free) and a portion of ticket sales will benefit Baking Memories 4 Kids, a local charity that sends kids with life-threatening illnesses and their families to Florida amusement parks.  Festival attendees can sample specialty foods from hot sauce and spice companies as well as food from area restaurants and regional specialty food vendors. There will be a first-responder chilli contest, face painting (and other activities for children), eating contests, a fire juggler, and live music. Beverages (including beer and wine) will be available for purchase from Provident Bank Park concession. Parking at the stadium is free.

October 11, 2015  Troy Chowderfest - Troy, New York
It's Soup for the People!  Going into its 9th year for 2015, the Troy Chowderfest welcomes chowder-lovers throughout Capital Region to come out and judge who has the best chowder in the area. On the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend, over 30 restaurants fill Riverfront Park, with decorated booths and all sorts of creative chowders. It's a full day of fall food, live music, and family fun!  Prizes are awarded for best seafood, vegetarian, most original and overall favorite – judged by a secret panel of local restaurant critics. Festival-goers are able to vote on the coveted 'People's Choice' award.

New York Academy of Medicine, 11am - 6pm.  Join us to celebrate the intersection between food, history, and public health at the Eating Through Time Festival. October 17, 2015  6th Annual Taste of the Seaport - New York, New York
An annual fall festival that celebrates the amazing food and beverage scene nestled in Lower Manhattan comprising the Financial District and the Historic South Street Seaport. With musical entertainment, children’s activities and sublime treats from more than 40 food and beverage purveyors, proceeds from the event benefit arts and enrichment programs at two local elementary schools, PS 343 Peck Slip School and PS 397 Spruce Street School.

OktoberfeAst “Pop-Up” Biergarten, 11:00am – 6:00pm.  Presented by Beer Sessions Radio and the Good Beer Seal, a new series of “popup” events offering a sophisticated drinking experience for discerning New Yorkers during two sessions on the corner of Fulton and Front Streets. Featuring 20+ of the best fall offerings from NY State brewers and select German-beer importers specializing in Bocks, Kolsches, Pumpkin, and Fest beers. A selection of regional food prepared by New York chefs will be available for purchase. Live music from Oompah Bands and other acoustic musicians throughout the day. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance.

October 16-17, 2014  Ocean Spray's Big Apple Bog - New York, New York
From its unique taste to its rich heritage and long history of health benefits, the cranberry holds a plethora of secrets worth sharing. This year, Ocean Spray is revealing the secrets of the exceptional autumn fruit at its life-size cranberry bog in New York City’s Rockefeller Center. Measuring 1,500-square-feet, the bog contains 2,000 pounds of fresh, floating cranberries, which will be on display October 16 - 17. Inside the cranberry bog, multi-generational Ocean Spray cranberry growers will share secrets of the harvest – from how the bogs are flooded and picked to why cranberries float.

The Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE pays homage to one of the greatest dining cities in the world. It is the only festival in New York to bring together both legendary culinary icons from around the globe and America's most beloved television chefs.  The New York City Festival benefits the hunger-relief programs of Food Bank For New York City and Share Our Strength. The annual event brings together some of the most important restaurants in Lower Manhattan for an outdoor festival of food, beverage, live music and family-friendly activities.  Proceeds support academic and arts enrichment programs at Lower Manhattan Public Schools PS 397 and 343, also known as the Spruce Street School and the Peck Slip School.

October 19, 2014  Meatopia - New York, New York
Meatopia, the world's most famous meat festival, is partnering with the New York City Wine and Food Festival to create Meatopia X: The Carnivore's Ball presented by Creekstone Farms hosted by Michael Symon. Every year James Beard Award-winning Esquire writer Josh Ozersky brings together the country's greatest meat chefs for what has been called "the ultimate meat event."

October 19, 2014  Lower East Side Pickle Day - New York, New York
The sweet and sour anticipation is finally over and at long last, Lower East Side Pickle Day will be returning to the ‘hood to cover Orchard Street in brine-soaked goodness. Featuring the artist formerly known as cucumber, there will be a full city block full of world-renowned picklers, a home pickling contest (with celebrity judges), live music, two additional city blocks full of the best in LES food and fashion vendors, games and a Halloween Costume Contest for kids and adults. Brine me up!

October 25, 2014  3rd Annual Ithaca Oktoberfest - Ithaca, New York
The Ithaca Oktoberfest is full of rich harvest season celebrations complete with live music, sampling from regional breweries, wineries and farmers, as well as local food vendors.  Local favorite microbreweries will be competing in the Oktoberfest championship for best beer.  You will be able taste the last bit of fresh seasonal apple cider or get pumpkins to take home and carve.  Ithaca’s authentic sauerkraut makers will be on site to give a real Oktoberfest feel to any tasty treat.  There will be live music such as and Ithaca Oktoberfest is a day devoted to great beer, wine, food, and music! Come celebrate in festive garb or with your signature Oktoberfest drinking boot.

October 25, 2014  CiderfeAst Seaport - New York, New York
From 11:30am – 6:00pm .  The unofficial kick-off party for Cider Week NYC, CiderfeAst will feature the best of regional, national and European ciders from more than 30 cider makers as well as a selection of regional food prepared by New York chefs.  This ticketed event will take place on the corner of Fulton and Front Streets, and will be split into two sessions. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance.

October 6-8, 2008  Urban Wheat Field Experience - New York, New York
A live wheat field, approximately one quarter of an acre in size, will sprout at New York City’s South Street Seaport. The Wheat Foods Council’s “Urban Wheat Field Experience,” will educate the public about how, where and when wheat grows; how it becomes the food on their plates; and how it affects their health after they eat it. Free admission.
