October 11-12, 2013 WhiskyFest New York - New York, New York WhiskyFest is the longest running whisky festival in the country and is held in Chicago, San Francisco, and New York. WhiskyFest offers you the opportunity to taste from a selection of more than 250 whiskies from around the world; many of them rare and exclusive. Meet the whisky makers at their booths to learn first-hand how the whiskies are made. Take some time to enjoy the never-ending gourmet buffet.
October 13, 2013 Troy Chowderfest - Troy, New York It's Soup for the People! Going into its seventh year for 2013, the Troy Chowderfest welcomes chowder-lovers throughout Capital Region to come out and judge who has the best chowder in the area. On the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend, over 30 restaurants fill Riverfront Park, with decorated booths and all sorts of creative chowders. It's a full day of fall food, live music, and family fun! Prizes are awarded for best seafood, vegetarian, most original and overall favorite – judged by a secret panel of local restaurant critics. Festival-goers are able to vote on the coveted 'People's Choice' award.
