Arts, Crafts, Kids games/rides, face painting, hay rides, clowns, special appearances, giveaways/door prizes, live bands. October 1, 2011 Brushy Mountain Apple Festival - North Wilkesboro, North Carolina This festival pays tribute to the fruit grown and harvested each fall by apple orchardists from Northwestern North Carolina. Local apple growers set up throughout the festival selling their apples, apple cider, and dried apples. Over 425 arts & crafts vendors highlighting Appalachian heritage crafts, 100 food concessions, and four music stages. Attendance: 160,000.
October 2, 2011 4th Annual Pittsboro Pepper Festival - Pittsboro, North Carolina Many of our local chefs will be showing off their creativity with pepper dishes using our local peppers. There will be local beer and wine, music and some education on sustainable agriculture. Proceeds will benefit the Abundance Foundation and Piedmont Biofarm Breeding & Research Program.
October 8, 2011 The 13th Annual Charlotte Oktoberfest - Charlotte, North Carolina This year, we expect more than 100 breweries from across the Southeast and around the world to participate, serving over 350 beers. Attendance: 5,250.
