39th Annual Enfield Peanut Festival
Enfield, North Carolina
Once again at the The Enfield Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary has agreed to host the Cake Wheel again this year and we're planning the chicken BBQ, as always. New and improved games will be provided for children's pleasure and, of course, the ever popular Ping Pong Drop. Several of our community members have made a beautiful quilt which will be raffled off and the Silent Auction will be filled with lots of good stuff to bid on. Also, new items of any sort are welcomed as donations for the Auction; art and crafts items are always well-received. Admission: Free.

October 4, 2014 Pork Jam BBQ Festival 2014 - Pelham, North Carolina
The 14th annual Pork Jam BBQ Festival will kick off on Saturday October 4th 10 am - 6 pm. Vendors, craftsman, artist, food vendors will be on site this year from all over the state! Plan to join us for this one day event which benefits the Pelham Volunteer Fire Department! The firemen and women will be busy fixing BBQ, Stew, and desserts! Come hungry and plan to take part of the festivities! We will have Inflatables, Games, Special Appearances, Raffles, Giveaways, Hay Rides, Petting Zoo, Face Painters, and other activities for the children! Come dunk one of the firemen in the dunking booth! Also, Live performances throughout the day featuring Beach, Country, Rock, and gospel music! This is one show you do not want to miss! North Wilkesboro, North Carolina
This festival pays tribute to the fruit grown and harvested each fall by apple orchardists from Northwestern North Carolina. Local apple growers set up throughout the festival selling their apples, apple cider, and dried apples. Over 425 arts & crafts vendors highlighting Appalachian heritage crafts, 100 food concessions, & four music stages. Attendance: 160,000.

Abundance North Carolina presents The Seventh Annual Amazing Pepper Festival! PepperFest is a celebration of sustainable agriculture, farmers, and the creativity of the Piedmont’s chefs, brewers and artisans. 2nd Annual Wild About Game - Outdoor Sportsmen's Day

Visitors can taste bear, deer or boar prepared by local celebrity, hunter, and 'moonshiner,' Mark Rogers. Activities start at 3:00 p.m. at the Village Shopping Center. Visitors will have opportunities to taste wild game, enter a wild fruit jam and jelly contest, cheer for their favorite dish in the wild game cook-off, take a dancing lesson, listen to bluegrass, and clog at the Billy Ed Queen Tribute Dance.
