Growing out of the first Earth Day, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with over 22,000 partners in 192 countries to broaden, diversify and mobilize the environmental movement. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.

April 9, 2016  Beer & Bacon Fest - Cary, North Carolina
The Festival is an ALL-YOU-CARE-TO-TASTE extravaganza complete with the best craft beers for your tasting pleasure…..paired with the food of the Gods: BACON. Guests enjoy a souvenir glass plus 75+ of their favorite international beers and wines paired with delicious bacon dishes. Over 15 restaurant tasting stations featuring the BEST restaurants in the Triangle will be on-hand vying for the $500 Best Bacon Dish Prize. Over 2 tons of gourmet bacons from all over the country will be griddled on-site. The VIP Deck will host specialty tastes and beers throughout the day. The Main Stage will host live music all day along with a Butchering 101 class.  All of this plus fun foodie exhibits and so much more!  Attendance: 5,000.

April 11-17, 2016  46th Annual Grifton Shad Festival
Grifton, North Carolina
The Grifton Shad Festival is one of the most time-honored and longest running festivals in all of North Carolina.  Events include the popular Shad Toss, rides, music, dancing, arts and crafts, parade, pet show, flea market, golf tournament, and children's activities.

Our format changes up and we experience our Annual Meeting in a new way.  A simplified format, sans the educational conference component of our past annual meetings, will give members a more focused experience on connecting with other HSA members.

April 29-May 1, 2016  Asheville Herb Festival - Asheville, North Carolina
This long-running festival celebrates its 27th year.   This is the largest festival of its kind in the Southeast. Not only can you find every type of garden and cooking herb imaginable, you can also see how herbs are transformed into medicines, salves, balms, soaps and teas.   Attendance: 35,000.

April 30, 2016  Spring Festival at Rocky River Vineyards
Midland, North Carolina
The Spring festival includes local artist, wine tasings and a Fish Fry and ending with great  music from two different bands. The artist will be selling mosaic items, birdbaths, gazing balls, hand beaded jewelry, unique clothing, scarves,gournet canned foods, peach salsa, cranberry pecan spread, purses, sterling silver jewelry, barn wood furniture just to name a few.  The wine tasing will be paired with a few select food items. This event is free enter and open to the public so people come out and enjoy the atmosphere with our great wine. If you are staying for music bring a lawn chair. The tasting  cost will be $14 a person and we will be serving our famous wine slushies. From 11 :00 AM  to 8:00 PM.

April 24, 2015  Great Smoky Mountain Trout Fest
Knoxville, North Carolina
The Troutfest Banquet and Auction will take place on Friday night.  Proceeds from this event are donated to Great Smoky Mountains National Park Fisheries Department, Friends of the Smokies Fisheries Scholarship Fund or other youth educational conservation projects. The Little River Chapter of Trout Unlimited sponsors this event as our major fundraiser.

April 6, 2013  Pepper's ChiliBrew Fest - Cary, North Carolina
The festival is a great day to breathe in the first breath of spring… you can Heat things up with 10 different kinds of chili and lots of hot sauces. Cool things down with great live music and over 75 of the best craft brews from all over the world.  And don’t forget the bagpipes!  Last year over 3000 people enjoyed our inaugural year…..come see what’s so HOT!
