Annual Gourd Artists Gathering

Cherokee Indian Fairgrounds.  Featuring exquisitely crafted gourd art, this year’s Cherokee Gourd Artists Gathering brings together collectors and exhibiting artists for a weekend of live demonstrations, classes, competitions and a spectacular art market offering stunning works of gourd art, materials, tools and supplies. Come see how an inexpensive, traditionally utilitarian component of the Cherokee household is transformed into a piece of artwork!

Hot Ribs, Cool Music.  A combination of national BBQ purveyors competing for awards and customers, and quality entertainment.

June 2-3, 2017  Annual Lincolnton Hog Happenin
Lincolnton, North Carolina
The Hog Happenin' is a regional bike fest and Kansas City Barbeque Society Sanctioned North Carolina State Championship Barbeque Cook-off that brings motorcycle and barbeque lovers together in downtown Lincolnton. While there are many hog events throughout North Carolina, Lincolnton was the first to combine the animal with the mechanical.

June 3, 2017  11th Annual Livermush Festival - Marion, North Carolina
The Official State of North Carolina Spring LiverMush Festival. Celebrates the omnipresent North Carolina food staple livermush, which is traditionally made from pig liver, head parts, cornmeal, pepper and sage. The mixture is made into a loaf and fried. It is closely related to another Southern dish, scrapple, which is made from meat broth and cornmeal. The event includes a Best Dressed Pig Contest and the popular Livermush Toss, music and a livermush cooking contest.

June 9-10, 2017  Annual Blue Ridge BBQ & Music Festival
Tryon, North Carolina
BLUE RIDGE BBQ & MUSIC FESTIVAL 2017 HAS BEEN CANCELED. We hope to bring it back in 2018. Thank you to the thousands of attendees, cookers, vendors, volunteers, and supporters.

June 9-11, 2017  Annual Taste of Charlotte - Charlotte, North Carolina

June 16-17, 2017  14th Annual NC Blueberry Festival
Burgaw, North Carolina
Enjoy some of the area's finest entertainment, artisans nestled around the courthouse square, antique cars lining the streets, food vendors serving up an array of delicacies and of course the Festival's main attraction Blueberries!    Attendance: 30,000.

June 16-17, 2017  6th Annual Peak City Pig Fest - Apex, North Carolina
Historic Apex, a community situated at the highest point on the Chatham Railroad between Richmond, VA and Jacksonville FL, hosts the KCBS sactioned BBQ competition. Teams from all over the country will compete for prize money cooking chicken, ribs, beef brisket and pork.  Attendance: 10,000.

June 23-24, 2017 - Summer Foodways Symposium
Charlotte, North Carolina
