Nag's Head, North Carolina
Join Kitty Hawk Kites and the Wright Flight Foundation for the Annual Watermelon Festival. We’ll have tons of fun activities for kids and parents like: the dunk tank, inflatable obstacle course, watermelon seed spitting distance contests, pie eating contests, music, and of course, tons of watermelon! Proceeds benefit the Wright Flight Foundation, helping students achieve their academic goals.

August 9-10, 2019  Oskar Blues Brewery’s Burning Can Festival
Hendrsonville, North Carolina
Oskar Blues REEB Ranch.  The Burning Can (notjusta) Beer Fest is an outdoor music-soaked celebration of craft beer in a can, featuring beer sampling, spectator sports, The Beer Relay race, and live music  with all proceeds benefitting CAN'd Aid Foundation.

August 9-11, 2019  Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival
Sneads Ferry, North Carolina
The annual event will include an all-day street dance, fireworks, food & craft vendors, carnival, beer & wine garden, karaoke contest, parade and shrimp peeling & cooking contests.  Attendance: 10,000.

August 10, 2019 - Gluten & Allergen Free Wellness Event
Raleigh, North Carolina

August 10-11, 2019  42nd Annual Sourwood Festival
Black Mountain, North Carolina
The sourwood tree and our lovely honey bees provide our area with very tasty local sourwood honey. At this annual street festival you can browse the arts and crafts of hundreds of vendors, see honey bee demonstrations, sample festival food and participate in a 5K run.  Attendance: 30,000.

August 12-18, 2019  Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week
Raleigh, North Carolina
Participating restaurants will offer delectable, three-course prix fixe dinners for either $20 or $30 per person, depending on the venue (tax and tip not included). As a special amenity to downtown employees and other daytime downtown visitors, some restaurants will be offering $5 and $10 lunch specials during Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week only!

The North Carolina mountains are known for their apple orchards. In celebration of King Apple, music, a parade, and arts and crafts fill city streets. Many of the growers also feature items such as fried apple pies, apple cakes, apple butter and apple cider.

The event offers an opportunity to learn about the benefits of elderberrries and growing them as a commercial crop. Enjoy two days of live music. Camping is available. 31 Bands, Many arts and craft vendors, Food Trucks, Workshop Stage and Special Children’s area.
