September 6-7, 2014  Seafood in Seaside Festival
Seaside Heights, New Jersey
Seaside Heights is the place to be for seafood lovers. There will be tastes to satisfy every hankering, from savory to sweet. The annual festival features some of Seaside’s finest seafood and desserts specialties.  The Seafood Festival will feature: blackened shrimp and scallop kabobs, coconut shrimp, crab cake sandwiches, cream of crab soup, sushi, gator legs, cannoli’s and much more.  Guests can take a break from eating and browse the over sixty vendors participating on Grant Avenue. The vendors’ tables will be overflowing with a wide variety of items for all ages, including jewelry, sunglasses, paintings, candles, wood crafts, apparel, and much more. The event will feature musical performances all weekend long.

September 7, 2014  17th Annual Beach Plum Festival
Island Beach State Park, New Jersey
The Festival will be held from 9am to 4pm at the Ocean Bathing Area 1 in Island Beach State Park. The celebration will include beach plum picking and jelly making demonstration, arts and craft show, food and entertainment, children’s games, bird banding demonstration, environmental and non-profit exhibits, and a kayak raffle.  Come and enjoy the day.  Support the Friends of Island Beach State Park as our volunteer members work to help our park.  All funds raised at this event stay in Island Beach State Park.

Craft brew lovers will have over 50 beers to choose from, including specialties from Anchor Steam, Flying Fish, He'Brew, Harpoon, Ommegang, Shiner and Speakeasy along with Beach Haus, currently constructing a brew pub in downtown Belmar. The afternoon will feature live entertainment, crafters and displays by local artists.

If you've ever seen the famous "I Love Lucy" episode with Lucy stomping grapes, here's your chance to actually experience it.  Roll up your pants and take off your shoes and socks.  Willing guests will have the opportunity to experience the old-fashioned way of crushing grapes.  Wine tasting, buffet-style dinner, wine cellar tour and barefoot grape stomping.  Reservations are required.
