September 30-Oct 1, 2011 58th Annual Ohio Swiss Festival - Sugarcreek, Ohio Held in Sugarcreek, the Little Switzerland of Ohio, with parades, queen pageant, musical entertainment, rides, 5K Swiss Cheese Chase, cheese auction, cheesemaking contest, Steintossen stone throwing, yodeling Swiss cheese eating and Swiss costume contests. Sample award-winning wine and cheese from our local artisans throughout the festival.
October 1-2, 2011 Weekend Of Fire - Fairfield, Ohio Fun, food and contests, with over 55 vendors and over 300 samples waiting for you. There will be vendors coming from all over the country ready to sample their wares. They'll have hot sauces that range from mild to wild, including some of the hottest hot sauces you've ever tried. Not only are the sauces wild, but wait until you see the people, costumes and booths. The hot sauce community is outrageous, bodacious and contagious! Attendance: 5,000.
October 1-2, 2011 Huntsburg Pumpkin Festival - Huntsburg, Ohio The 42nd annual festival will include a baking contest, decorated & carved pumpkin show, pageant, horseshoe tournament, apple peeling contest, nail pounding contest, pumpkin roll, car show, pumpkin pie eating contest, road race, entertainment and a parade.
October 1-2, 2011 Spring Valley Potato Festival - Spring Valley, Ohio The first full weekend in October of each year brings thousands of people together to enjoy the free continuous live entertainment. The aroma of an endless variety of foods is there to enjoy while strolling the streets lined with booth after booth of quality crafts and home grown produce in the Farmer's Market. Raffles, contests, a baked goods auction and a pet parade are just part of the many things to take in.

October 8, 2011 Yellow Springs Street Fair - Yellow Springs, Ohio An all-day festival with entertainment throughout the Village. Over 200 booths. Join the international selection of cuisine from Vietnamese shish-kabob to Mexican empanadas to Thai wraps to hot dogs. Street performers, Music Festival & Beer Garden. For children, Primary Languages will have free crafts along with face painting and cookie decorating with donations going to the Dayton International School.
