Troy celebrates its place as the center of Ohio's strawberry production the first weekend of June. Featured are the strawberries, of course, and they come in all sorts of taste-tempting treats from shortcake to donuts to strawberry pie. Also to be enjoyed are the many arts and crafts booths, the athletic competitions, and the entertainment. One of the largest and best-attended festivals in the Midwest. Attendance: 150,000. The Jewish Cultural Festival provides attendees an opportunity to sample Jewish foods from Latin America, the Southwest U.S., the Middle East, and the iconic New York deli scene. The Temple bakery also sells baked-from-scratch Jewish breads and desserts, such as challah, honey cake, hamentashen, and rugelach. Famous Graeter's (kosher) ice cream is also in attendance for those craving the delicious flavors, like black raspberry chip and buckeye blitz. To quench your thirst, Shmaltz Brewing brings a mix of kosher and Israeli beers, such as the Rejewvunator, She'brew, and Funky Jewbelation to the event. Attendance: 2,500.
