October 1, 2016  14th Annual Fresh Hop Ale Festival
Yakima, Washington
Celebrate the fact that 75 percent of the total U.S. hop crop is grown right here in the Yakima Valley. Enjoy award-winning fresh hop ales (ambers, hefeweizen, stouts, and more), local food, fine wines, a cigar tent, and dancing in the streets to live music.  Attendance: 3,500.

Apple pie contest, lots of musical entertainment, encampment with flintknapping and gold panning demonstrations, book sale, and tasty homemade goodies. Proceeds benefit the Pioneer Village and Museum.

35th Annual OysterFest - Shelton, Washington
Oysters, wines, microbrews, live music and so much more come together for two days every year on the first weekend in October. OysterFest is home to the West Coast Oyster Shucking Championships and is Washington State’s official seafood festival.  The festival also features a popular cook-off, hands-on water quality exhibits, and is itself a giant a food pavilion with nearly 100 unique items on the menu: BBQ oysters, fritters, spring rolls, garlic shrimp, fresh cider and so much more. Better yet, your culinary adventure supports about 100 local non-profit service clubs and organizations, as well as funding scholarships and local community improvement projects.

The Festival is a fun and educational event about the multifaceted world of tea. Our goal is to provide experiences covering all aspects of tea, from the cultural to the historical and the sensory to the scientific.

Open weekends October 1-30. Hayrides to the Pumpkin Patch and down "Pumpkin Lane" populated by pumpkin head people. Scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, hay bale maze, feed the animals, and vendors. Proceeds support the Pomeroy Living History Farm.

October 7-9, 2016 - 15th Annual Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival
Port Angeles, Washington
An Annual celebration of the region's diverse bounty--seafood, maritime & cultural traditions, and breathtaking coastal environment.   Each October foodies and fun-seekers from across the United States and as far away as Finland descend upon the scenic Olympic Peninsula to partake in a grand celebration of the coveted crustacean that derives its name from the town where it was first commercially harvested back in 1848 -- Dungeness.  It’s all about great food and fresh crab. Thousands of pounds of fresh Dungeness crab are pulled from local waters each year, enabling festival-goers to eat their fill while also enjoying a wide variety of locally grown and produced foods.  Non-seafood and vegetarian dishes will be available, as well.  Admission is free.
