May 31-June 1, 2018 Slow Living Summit - Brattleboro, Vermont
The Slow Living Summit is an annual conference which takes in Brattleboro, Vermont. This year's Summit is described as "a mindful exploration of the journey of food, from farming and food entrepreneurship to food systems to nourishment to food justice and policy". The Summit's theme for 2018 is 'The Future of Food Entrepreneurship' and draws individuals nationally and internationally. The Slow Living Summit takes place just before Strolling of the Heifers Weekend, a celebration of agriculture that aims to connect people with healthy local foods and with the farmers and food producers who bring it to them. The colorful centerpiece of the weekend is the famous Strolling of the Heifers Parade, in which future farmers lead heifer calves up Brattleboro's historic Main Street.
