Known for its complimentary buses that shuttle guests between the winery locations, the Livermore Valley Harvest Wine Celebration showcases our picturesque region's wine, food, arts and music. Each of the 40+ wineries offers a unique experience-samples of the latest releases, music, arts and crafts vendors and food for sale prepared by a local caterer or restaurant. September 21, 2013 Annual Fair Oaks Chicken Festival - Fair Oaks, California
The Fair Oaks Chicken Festival is a celebration of our rural history and present village atmosphere. The Village of Fair Oaks, colonized around 1895, was home to orange and citrus groves as well as olive orchards and assorted farm animals and, without a doubt, chickens were among them. Today the Fair Oaks chickens enjoy the freedom and hospitality of the village they call home. Attendance: 15,000.
September 21, 2013 49er Festival & Chili Cookoff - Groveland, California
This all day event begins with a pancake breafast followed by a real small-town parade through downtown Groveland. The highlight of the day is the Chili Cook-off with local chefs vying for top awards in three categories: Beans, No Beans and Vegetarian Chili. Free music, kids zone, auction and raffle.
