September 14, 2019  3rd annual Calaveras Wine, Cheese and Olive Festival - San Andreas, California
Foothill wineries, some whose grapes harken back to the Gold Rush days, will be pouring their best vintages. Cheese and Olive purveyors, several local to the area, will be offering delicious samples of their craft. Live music and a silent auction will round out the evening.  The Rotary Club of San Andreas produces this festival with volunteer help. Proceeds from this year’s event will go toward the Meals on Wheels program of Common Ground Senior Services

Barbera is becoming more and more popular in California. Many California producers offer a varietal Barbera. Barbera is a great food wine yet quite enjoyable on its own. Still, Barbera remains fairly obscure. The festival aims to bring Barbera to the attention of the general wine buying public. The event includes more than 70 California wineries, gourmet food, live music and local artists.

The Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival is Sonoma Valley’s annual tradition of celebrating the harvest of wine grapes and the yearly crush. Since 1897 the Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival has been celebrating the Sonoma Valley’s bounty, community, and local culture. California’s oldest festival, this Sonoma tradition takes place the last full weekend of September in downtown Sonoma’s historic Plaza. The Festival benefits many Sonoma Valley community projects and non-profits.
