September , 2023 - Sample the Sierra: South Lake Tahoe Farm-to-Fork Festival - South Lake Tahoe, California
POSTPONED DUE TO WET CONDITIONS.  The foodie paradise will showcase the talents of over 60 participants: chefs, restaurants, brewers, winemakers and farmers during the South Lake Tahoe festival. Sample the Sierra has created an opportunity for the South Shore’s tastemakers to present their food and drink in an easily digestible format. Nearly 1,500 attendees will explore the area’s gastronomic offerings via 20 booths of regionally sourced cuisine paired with locally crafted wine, beer and spirits.

Fair Oaks, California
The Fair Oaks Chicken Festival is a celebration of our rural history and present village atmosphere.  The Village of Fair Oaks, colonized around 1895, was home to orange and citrus groves as well as olive orchards and assorted farm animals and, without a doubt, chickens were among them.  Today the Fair Oaks chickens enjoy the freedom and hospitality of the village they call home.  Attendance: 15,000.

September 16, 2023  Bines and Brews Beer Fest - Monument, California
Enjoy beer, gin, wine, spirits, and moonshine while listening to upbeat contemporary jazz from New Vintage Jazz.  Food vendors and other interesting vendors.  Ticket sales are capped at 400 to maintain the upscale feel and allow you to have conversations with the brewers.  An adults-only event; even the designated drivers must be over 21 (no exceptions). No dogs allowed. ID required.  General admission $25 - includes a commemorative glass and unlimited 2 oz tastings. Designated driver $10. Gates open at 1:00 PM.

The festival will feature the talents of local and regional artists with nearly 175 booths, 25 community groups serving international foods, fine wines, micro-brewed beer and entertainment on three stages, and the popular Kids Kingdom.   Attendance: 50,000.

The Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival is Sonoma Valley’s annual tradition of celebrating the harvest of wine grapes and the yearly crush. Since 1897 the Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival has been celebrating the Sonoma Valley’s bounty, community, and local culture. California’s oldest festival, this Sonoma tradition takes place the last full weekend of September in downtown Sonoma’s historic Plaza. The Festival benefits many Sonoma Valley community projects and non-profits.

September 1, 2019 - 38th Annual Harvest Wine Celebration
Livermore, California
New this year, our event will be held at the top of the Las Positas College campus.  Enjoy backdrops of windmills and vineyards, 40+ wineries, food trucks, live music, arts & craft vendors and more.  This exclusive event is open only to ticket holders- don't miss out on a wine country celebration!  Join us for great wine, bands, mini wine seminars, wine tasting, lawn games, food trucks and more. Our VIP section includes reserve tastings, exclusive lounge areas, complimentary food, and additional VIP experiences.

September 7, 2019 - Annual Plate by Plate - San Francisco, California
Plate by Plate is the oldest and largest Asian American tasting benefit in the nation.  This signature gala will once again showcase savory food and dessert delicacies prepared by talented chefs from the best restaurants in Los Angeles, as well as samplings from premier wineries and beverage companies.

September 7-8, 2019  Crawfish and Catfish Festival
Woodland, California
Yolo County Fairgrounds. Featuring authentic tastes of Louisiana, Southern BBQ, Soul Foods, Latin foods and Asian/Cajun Fusion cuisine. Specialties offered include crawfish, catfish, alligator, frog legs, shrimp, oysters, gumbo, jambalaya, sausages, hot dogs, wings, garlic noodles, beignets and pralines. Visit the Central Grocery and learn how to cook some favorites at the New Cooking School. Purchase live crawfish and learn how to boil them.  Live Cajun, Zydeco, Blues, Jazz, R & B, Latin and Funk on three stages.  Other festival activities include cooking demos, you can enter the Jambalaya Cook Off, take Zydeco dance lessons, race crawfish, Catch and Release Catfish pool, enjoy the kid's zone, vendor marketplace, Sportsman's Paradise Outdoor Expo and a Cornhole Tournament.

September 7-8, 2019  Annual Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival

EVENT ON HIATUS FOR 2019.  In 2019, the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company will take a hiatus from producing the Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival to reimagine the chocolate experience and fine-tune the philanthropic event. We apologize for the disappointment this may cause our loyal Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival fans.  Attendance: 40,000.

There will be no 2018 Taste of Local Festival.  Will return in 2019.  We will not be presenting the 2018 edition of Taste of Local Festival. We encourage you to take the money you may have spent on attending the festival and spend it with one of our amazing local businesses or non-profits. Or, make a donation to The Local Love Project, helping us to continue our work providing relief and support to those affected by the Thomas Fire and mudslides.  We will be back! The 2019 Taste of Local Festival dates will be announced this fall.

The festival, which goes from 12-5 pm, will feature 9 breweries based in San Luis Obispo County and 4 breweries out of northern Santa Barbara County. Participating breweries will be featuring their craft beers with food from local restaurants and there will be live music.
