April 2, 2016 5th Annual Winners’ Circle BBQ - Arcadia, California
Known as the best Barbeque competition on the west coast, the 5th annual “Winner’s Circle” BBQ Championship, will be held at the iconic Santa Anita Park. This is not just another day at the races; the top Pit Masters from all over the Western United States will compete for $18,000 in cash, a California State Championship title and the chance to represent California in the national Barbeque championships. Also, new this year is the ultimate Mac & Cheese throw down where the contestants elbow their way to the top and shred the competition with their cheesy concoctions. Live music will be jamming throughout the day, while you relax with hot barbeque and a cold refreshing beverage. Arts and crafts and a special play area and pony rides will be available for children. And, if that is not enough, live horse racing starts at 1:00. The “Winner’s Circle” BBQ Championship offers free parking at gate 6 and only $5.00 admission. Cochon555, the signature culinary competition featuring five chefs cooking five heritage breed pigs in a friendly competition for a cause. The tour is dedicated to helping Piggy Bank create the first open-source agriculture platform for heritage species while raising global awareness for socially responsible farming. The event unites consumers with local farmers, renowned chefs, prominent winemakers, restaurateurs, craft brewers and distillers in each city for a nose-to-tail culinary showdown celebrating family farms. At each event, 500 guests including notable judges will vote for the best bite amongst 2,000 pounds of awesomeness and the winning chef will be announced the “Princess or Prince of Porc”.
