Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF) National Conference and Gluten-Free EXPO, the nation’s premier celiac disease and non-celiac wheat sensitivity event, attracts more than 3,500 people annually.  2017 Gluten-Free Expo will bring together more than 100 companies exhibiting the latest gluten-free products.  Attendees can sample gluten-free food and beer, try new products, and take home a bag filled with goodies and coupons. May 12, 2018  13th Annual Uncorked! Wine Festival
San Francisco, California
From 12 PM to 5 PM. In partnership with a local non-profit organization, Uncorked is a public event which provides an opportunity to taste, learn and experience wine from throughout Northern California.  Activities throughout the courtyards of Ghirardelli Square extending onto Beach Street, which will be closed to traffic.  Tasting tickets include a souvenir wine glass and unlimited tastings.  All other activities at are free. There is no admission fee to enter the event. Other activities include cooking demonstrations by renown Bay Area chefs, seminars such as “Wine 101” and “Chocolate & Wine Pairings.” Musical entertainment.  Attendance: 7,500.

Taste of Julian is a self-guided culinary tour of participating one-of-a-kind restaurants, wineries, and breweries. Many years have included a free art show featuring original artwork by local artists.  FREE PARKING!! In the parking lot on 4th & “B” Street.  Tickets are $25.00 per person in advance. Printed receipts for tickets purchased online will be validated when brought to the event at the Julian Town Hall, corner of Hwy 78 & Main Street.

May 17-20, 2018 - Calavaras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee
Calaveras County Fairgrounds, California
The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is one of the longest running events in the State of California.  It earliest roots date back to 1893, held that year in Copperopolis, the fair eventually found a permanent home outside of Angels Camp.  In the spirit of the old movie classic "State Fair," the Calaveras County Fair is a blend of entertainment, exhibits, livestock, arena events, great food and our signature event, the Frog Jump.

May 17-20, 2018  36th Annual Paso Robles Wine Festival
Paso Robles, California
4 sunny days full of events each May in celebration of everything Paso Robles wine.  The 35-year old festival, one of the largest outdoor wine festivals in California, features more than 70 of the region’s finest wineries. Along with world class wines, seminars, great food, and local music, guests enjoy Thursday night winemaker dinners and the Friday evening RESERVE event.  More than 100 wineries host individual events over the four days, amplifying the fun to be had during a celebration weekend in Paso Robles.

The Vista Chamber of Commerce is hosting its Annual Vista Strawberry Festival, sponsored by Tri-City Medical Center. Held on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend from 6:45 AM - 6:00 PM.  This year’s festival will be a day filled with fun, food, multiple entertainment stages, bands, carnival rides and local craft beer in the beer garden, and of course, strawberries!  The event will also host over 400 local vendors to showcase their local products to the community.  The Strawberry Festival is an entertaining event for all your family and friends that is sure to create new memories.  It is a free event to the public, so bring your family and friends and take part in the tradition of Vista!  The festival will be held in Historic Downtown Vista, beginning with the early morning Strawberry runs.  There are runs for children and all levels of adult runners.  If running isn’t your thing, there will also be the Miss Strawberry Pageant, cooking contests, pie eating contests, costume contests, Strawberry Idol, local artists and much more.  Attendance: 100,000.

Taste of Brews marks its triumphant return to Riverside’s White Park for  the 5th Annual Taste of Brews Inland Empire featuring unlimited tastes of  premium craft beers and hard ciders.  Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity Riverside.  More than three dozen craft breweries and hard ciders ranging from  hometown favorites to regional standouts from San Diego, Orange County and  Los Angeles.  Invitees include Hangar 24, Sons of Liberty, Wicks, Bootleggers,  Stone, Delicious Science, Sam Adams, Ace Cider, Wiens, Einstock, Founders and  many more. Food:   A variety of food and snacks will be available for purchase. Tickets: Prices begin at $30 for 3 hour tasting tickets (1pm to 4pm) and $40 for  4 hour tasting tickets (noon to 4pm).  All tickets include unlimited 4oz tastes, live  entertainment and access to meals for purchase. Music: All attendees will be treated to live musical entertainment.

The Laurel Foundation’s Wine Tasting Benefit will bring together 15-20 wineries from the Northern and Southern California regions.  Held at a spectacular Hancock Park mansion, the event will have light food fare with special food pairing for the wine.  Sommeliers and wine stewards will be present to educated guests on each wine. In addition, the event will host a Silent Aution.   All to benefit The Laurel Foundation - serving over 500 children, youth and families affected by HIV and AIDS.

We are sad to announce that the Great Wine Festival will not be returning in 2017.  The Great Wine Festival is a fundraiser for the Legal Aid Society of Orange County (LASOC), which is currently at risk of losing over 55% of its funding due to proposed federal budget cuts.  Our focus this year is establishing our Voices for Justice event as our primary annual fundraising event each October. We are working hard to bring the Great Wine Festival event back in the near future and will keep everyone posted on developments.
