There are so many events on Thanksgiving Day they are to numerous to list.

November 24-25, 2017 - San Rafael Parade of Lights & Winterwonderland - San Rafael, California
Downtown San Rafael will once again host its annual holiday Parade & Winter Wonderland. In its 38th year, the event features a Holiday Marketplace with arts and crafts, live entertainment, children’s activities, free snow sledding, and one of the largest Holiday Parades in the Bay Area.  In 2015 the event was attended by people from all over Marin County. It enjoys a very “local” feel and is known as a great destination for people of all ages. The event starts at noon with free snow sledding and kids’ activities, a Holiday Marketplace and the Parade begins at 5:30 PM.  Following the Parade, Santa, Ms. Claus and other costumed characters arrive with the Mayor of San Rafael to the center of town in the City Plaza to light the official Holiday Tree. Following the Tree Ligh  ting Ceremony, Santa and friends are available for a meet and greet with the kids.  The entire event is free to the public and occurs the day after Thanksgiving, one of the biggest shopping days of the year.

November 25, 2017  Country Christmas in Julian - Julian, California
Christmas Tree Lighting. You can enjoy Julian’s holiday ambiance from Thanksgiving weekend through early January. Following are some scheduled activities that will add joy to your experience.  You can greet Santa a couple of times during the season, indulge in a Victorian Christmas tea, sing Christmas carols with costumed holiday carolers, sip a cup of hot chocolate or spiced cider. And you can watch the annual Living Nativity tableau, cuddle under a blanket while riding down Main Street in a carriage, take in a performance of The Christmas Carol starring Julian kids, stay in a cozy bed an breakfast that’s all decked out in holiday finery, or even stroll down a quiet country lane.

San Francisco, California
Join Russian River Valley Winegrowers for an amazing tasting experience of Russian River Valley Single Vineyard wines. More than 30 winemakers and winegrowers will be pouring small-lot, single vineyard wines from the Russian River Valley, including premier Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc. Guests will also be treated so small bites from the Spinster Sisters, including chili rubbed flank steak with avocado salsa and madras curry chicken puffs among other delectable tastes, plus exquisite cheeses from Freestone Artisan Cheese.  Silent Auction And Instant Cellar Raffle.

Big Sur, California
A weekend of culinary and wine events in Big Sur, combining Hiking with Stemware, wine maker dinners, a Grand Tasting with a local cookbook and wine book signings and the chance to meet some of California's best wine makers.

November 4-5, 2016  San Diego Brewers Guild Festival
San Diego, California
Join us for the 14th Annual San Diego Brewers Guild Festival presented by Harrah’s Resort Southern California at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier in downtown San Diego. This two day event is the official kickoff of San Diego Beer Week. Enjoy samples from more than 50 San Diego County breweries! The event raises funds for Surfrider Foundation, Fight ALD, and the San Diego Brewers Guild.

November 4-13, 2016  Mushroom, Wine & Beer Festival
Mendocino County, California
Mendocino County is home to more than 3,000 mushroom varieties -- including the rare candy cap mushroom, with its intense maple-syrup flavor and sweet fragrance -- that grows only along the northern coast of California. The pinnacle of mushroom season is Mendocino County’s annual Mushroom Festival.

Old fashioned family oriented festival, one day event, free admission & parking, featuring live music, food, merchandise vendors, lots of food and of course pistachios!  Annual event always held the first Saturday in November.

November 5, 2016 - Madera Pomegranate Festival
Madera, California
Pomegranate themed festival.  Vendors range from makeup, beauty salons, women’s wear to toy makers, business banks and nuts, jellies and pomegranate products. Free parking and entrance to the event.
