Celebrates the new crop of locally grown Mandarin oranges, a Mandarin Recipe cooking contest, professional chef demonstrations, food, AGRO Art, local farmers selling freshly harvested Mandarin oranges, crafts and activities, free children’s area, live music and entertainment. Always held the weekend before Thanksgiving.

November 29-30, 2019  San Rafael 40th Annual Parade of Lights & Winter Wonderland - San Rafael, California
Downtown San Rafael will once again host its annual holiday Parade & Winter Wonderland.  The event features a Holiday Marketplace with arts and crafts, live entertainment, children’s activities, free snow sledding, and one of the largest Holiday Parades in the Bay Area.  In 2015 the event was attended by people from all over Marin County. It enjoys a very “local” feel and is known as a great destination for people of all ages. The event starts at noon with free snow sledding and kids’ activities, a Holiday Marketplace and the Parade begins at 5:30 PM.  Following the Parade, Santa, Ms. Claus and other costumed characters arrive with the Mayor of San Rafael to the center of town in the City Plaza to light the official Holiday Tree. Following the Tree Ligh  ting Ceremony, Santa and friends are available for a meet and greet with the kids.  The entire event is free to the public and occurs the day after Thanksgiving, one of the biggest shopping days of the year.

November 29-Dec 1, 2019  45th Annual Sonora Christmas Craft & Music Festival - Sonora, California
This highly regarded festival features over 150 great quality craft artists, up tempo and varied music, street performers, costumed elves and twinkle trees, carolers, a wide selection of home-cooking style festival kitchens and bake shops, all in festive, brightly colored craft halls. The “Spirit of Christmas” is definitely present here! Also, don’t miss the annual Christmas Parade in downtown Sonora on Friday.

November 29-Dec 20, 2019  Annual Grass Valley Cornish Christmas Celebration - Grass Valley, California
The spirit of Christmas past in historic downtown Grass Valley. Started in 1967 as a way to preserve Grass Valley’s Cornish heritage and holiday traditions, Cornish Christmas remains one of our most popular events. Filled with the sights and sounds of an old fashioned Christmas; carolers, jugglers, musicians, the Grass Valley Cornish Carol Choir, Tommyknocker Cloggers and of course, Santa Claus. Handmade arts and craft from artists throughout California are displayed. Delicious food and drink can be purchased from a number of Grass Valley restaurants and specialty food vendors. November 30, 2019  Country Christmas in Julian - Julian, California
Christmas Tree Lighting. You can enjoy Julian’s holiday ambiance from Thanksgiving weekend through early January. Following are some scheduled activities that will add joy to your experience.  You can greet Santa a couple of times during the season, indulge in a Victorian Christmas tea, sing Christmas carols with costumed holiday carolers, sip a cup of hot chocolate or spiced cider.
