Anchorage, Alaska
Showcasing beers of the Northwest with special attention to Alaska's brews. The whole weekend is a celebration of brewing beer, mead and barley wine. Live entertainment.

The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed. Growing out of the first Earth Day, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with over 22,000 partners in 192 countries to broaden, diversify and mobilize the environmental movement. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.

May 24-25, 2013  Great Alaska Craft Beer & Homebrew Festival - Dalton City, Alaska
Sample excellent craft beers from breweries around the state and region. Enjoy live music, eat good food, and taste great beer!

June 7-16, 2013  Slam'n Salm'n Derby - Anchorage, Alaska
Salmon fishing derby benefits Downtown Soup Kitchen, which provides 90,000 meals annually and other services for the hungry and homeless in Anchorage, Alaska.

July 25-28, 2013  Southeast Alaska State Fair - Haines, Alaska
Four days of concerts, food, exhibits, contests, rides, and much more. Don't miss the Fishermen's King Salmon BBQ.

July 26-27, 2013  Copper River Wild Salmon Festival - Cordova, Alaska
Experience the energy and enthusiasm of our rustic fishing commmunity in the heart of Prince William Sound (home to world famous wild Copper River salmon).  Taste of Cordova, Art, Salmon Jam, music, road races and educational events. The Copper River Wild! Festival aims to celebrate salmon and promote the health and sustainability of local salmon runs.


August 2-4, 2013  Annual Blueberry Arts Festival - Ketchikan, Alaska
Thousands celebrate the blueberry in style with an art show, contests, Battle of the Bands, Gigglefeet Dance Festival, Trout Fishing in America Poetry Slam and many choices of blueberry cuisine.

August 2-11, 2013  Tanana Valley State Fair - Fairbanks, Alaska
Founded in 1924, the Tanana Valley State Fair was the first fair in the state of Alaska. Some of the oldest ongoing competitions at the Fair, dating back to at least 1926, include the baby show, farm and garden display, most attractive commercial booth, and of course, the biggest cabbage. Other highlights include music, livestock, freight dog pull, antique tractor pull, talent show, rodeo, and fireworks.

August 9-11, 2013  67th Golden North Salmon Derby - Juneau, Alaska
Sponsored by the Territorial Sportsmen, this is the oldest continuous salmon derby in Alaska. Large cash and merchandise prizes are awarded. Proceeds from the derby fund scholarships.

August 10-11, 2013  Blueberry Festival - Girdwood, Alaska
The festival includes live music, arts and crafts, barbeque, beer garden, mountain run, blueberry picking and dessert contests.

August 22-Sept 2, 2013  Alaska State Fair - Palmer, Alaska
Located in the heart of the Chugach Mountains in the fertile Matanuska-Susitna Valley, the Fair is home to record-setting giant vegetables, grown in the long days of summer when the sun stays out much longer than it does in the lower US. Records include a 138-pound cabbage, 18.9-pound carrot, 39.5-pound broccoli, 39-inch bean, and 1,287-pound pumpkin.  Alaska Seafood Throwdown, Dutch Oven Cook-Off, Beef Throwdown, Moose Calling Contest, etc.  Other attractions include concerts, a rodeo, fair food, Baked Goods, Canning and Livestock exhibits.  Attendance: 290,000.

October 18-19, 2013  Mighty Matanuska Brewfest - Palmer, Alaska
Come share your thoughts about the different brewed spectaculars while enjoying the company of your friends with live music, food vendors, and over 50 different beers for your sampling.

November 2, 2013  5th Annual United Way Festival of Beer and Wine
Anchorage, Alaska
There will be wines from around the world and craft beer selections paired with appetizers and desserts from some of Anchorage's finest restaurants. Add music and a fabulous silent auction for an event sure to deliver something for everyone’s taste!


November 9-10, 2013  26th Annual Anchorage Holiday Food & Gift Festival
Anchorage, Alaska
A fun and family oriented event featuring a wide variety of unique gifts, gourmet food, handmade arts and crafts, and so much more.  Holiday Food & Gift Festival strives to provide the Anchorage community and its visitors with a winter holiday show featuring a large variety of Alaska made and imported arts and crafts, furs, gifts and foods, thereby enhancing the quality of life of Anchorage residents, visitors and Vendors; to provide Vendors with a reasonable cost, premier location which affords them an opportunity to showcase and display their products to a broad base of consumers and potential customers; and add to the vitality of downtown Anchorage.

We’re taking the party outside for the only street party recreating Bourbon Street, featuring authentic Cajun cuisine from local celebrity chefs, live music, and street performers. Raises money for the American Red Cross of Alaska.
