National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) was launched in 1989 to raise awareness of the availability of the School Breakfast Program (SBP) to all children. Each year, the School Nutrition Association (SNA) helps schools to celebrate NSBW with a fun theme.
March 15, 2014 4th Annual Toasting the Town - Milford, Delaware
St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl. Downtown Milford Inc. (DMI) will host the 4th Annual Toasting the Town: St. Patrick's Pub Crawl. A growing tradition for the Milford community, this year's Pub Crawl will feature six local businesses and five local restaurants and pubs. Each business will feature a sampling of a unique drink or food and celebrate the holiday with a twist that reflects their specific business. The Delaware State Fair's first annual Triple Threat BBQ Festival, where food and fun lovers collide for the ultimate feast. As a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned event, the Triple Threat is every bit a competition as it is a good time for visitors. Jam packed with 2 days of fun, the BBQ Fest includes live music, carnival rides, corn hole, and of course, beer, wine, and barbecue. BBQ competitions will offer prizes ranging from $100.00 to $2,500.00 for each category: beef brisket, pork ribs, chicken, pork. Join us as you experience the aromas of authentic food cooking before your eyes, the sounds of ethnic music and the sights of our own Greek Terpsechorian Youth Folk dance group. Homemade traditional comfort food like Pastichio (Greek Lasagna), Moussaka (Eggplant, Potato and Seasoned Beef Casserole), Dolmades (Stuffed Grape Leaves) and Spanakopita (Spinach Pie) are served in the Hellenic Community Center daily from 11am - 9:30 pm. It's the 7th annual homegrown cook-off where you get to be the judge! Local farmers and area chefs whip up the tastiest competition of the year. The premise of the event is simple, pair local farmers with local chefs. While the event is a fundraiser for the March of Dimes, we are also helping to create sustainable relationships between local farmers and chefs, while reinforcing the movement of eating healthy. October 11, 2014 Delaware Wine & Beer Festival - Dover, Delaware
Tickets are now on sale for the 5th Annual Delaware Wine and Beer Festival, set at the beautiful 19th century farm village at the Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village in Dover, Delaware. The event theme celebrates all things Delaware: “Drink Local, Eat Local and Buy Local.” The festival will feature the full contingency of Delaware wineries, breweries, distilleries, artisans and eateries who will participate in the event. This event is Delaware’s official, original wine and beer festival, and the only one in the state to earn the prestigious “Top 100 USA Event” designation from the American Bus Association. In addition to wine, beer and spirits sampling, the event will include the Delaware Artisan Faire with 50 local artisans and artists just in time for tax-free holiday shopping; live music; keg tossing competition; and new this year, a Sunday brunch on October 12 sponsored by the Delaware Wineries Association. An expanded merchandise store and wine store will be available offering discounted bottles and cases of locally-made wines for take-home purposes.

The inaugural Kent County Restaurant Week will be co-branded and launched as part of the Delaware Wine and Beer Festival, with the Delaware Wineries Association’s gourmet brunch on Sunday, October 12, featuring local craft wines and spirits paired with food presented by local restaurants. Restaurant Week will highlight the unique dining experiences in Kent County featuring fresh seafood, quality meats and local farm to fork produce and fruits. Kent County’s wineries, breweries and distillery are partnering with local restaurants to pair craft beer, wine and spirits with local dishes to further the “Eat Local” mantra. Restaurant week will encourage local residents, Delawareans and visitors to visit any of the 100+ independent eateries in Kent County.
