The 39th annual event will be sponsored by the Fungus Federation of Santa Cruz, expanding the understanding and appreciation of mycology (study of mushrooms). The Fair is a popular event for the entire community.

The Good Food Awards celebrate the kind of food we all want to eat: tasty, authentic and responsibly produced. We grant awards to outstanding American food producers and the farmers who provide their ingredients. We host an annual Awards Ceremony and Marketplace at the iconic Ferry Building in San Francisco to honor the Good Food Award recipients who push their industries towards craftsmanship and sustainability while enhancing our agricultural landscape and building strong communities.  In its third year, Good Food Awards will be given to winners in nine categories: beer, charcuterie, cheese, chocolate, coffee, confections, pickles, preserves and spirits. Awards will be given to producers and their food communities from each of five regions of the US. The Good Food Awards seal, found on winning products, assures consumers they have found something exceptionally delicious that also supports sustainability and social good.

Hosted by the Holtville Athletic Club, this year”s event is scheduled one weekend prior to the Super Bowl and is expected to draw a crowd of 15,000 people. Attendance: 15,000.

January 28-29, 2012  Bring Out the Barrel 2012: Good Wine Hunting - Placerville, CA
Come out and be the first to taste El Dorado’s finest wines straight from the barrel! You will be treated to a special preview of extraordinary vintages before they are blended or bottled. Each vineyard will be offering wine tastings, light hors d'oeuvres, and the opportunity to learn more about wine and wine making. As you’re discovering great wines, be on the hunt for other items as part of the winery scavenger hunt. Prizes will be awarded to the first 10 to participants to finish.
