July 13-29, 2018  California State Fair - Sacramento, California
The 17-day fair is a robust celebration of the State of California, its industries, agriculture and diversity of its people. Among the highlights are  concerts, wine garden, midway rides, demonstration farm (with most crops grown in the state), livestock pavilion, fine arts competition, harness racing, and nightly fireworks. Tastes of the fair include exotic foods from around the world, plenty of healthy & nutritious options, as well as many deep-fried foods: zucchini, Twinkies, funnel cake, chicken, avacado, cheesecake, and more.  Attendance: 940,000.

The Long Beach Crawfish Festival serves up delicious Cajun Crawfish dinners in the world's largest crawfish pots. The feasts include red baby potatoes, corn on the cob and remoulade dipping sauce. Calling all Modern-day Cavemen and Cavewomen! Prescribed Events invites you to gather with like-minded cave peeps for Taste of Paleo 5.0. The first ever paleolithic (aka Caveman) food tasting festival of its kind, providing an environment in which members of the paleo community come together to celebrate the paleo lifestyle and enjoy an event like no other. The festival combines virtually unlimited tasting from over 100 craft beer and wines, Dinner from top local restaurants and Music in the wonderful mountain community of Tehachapi, California.This event is an adult event for people 21 years and older and you must have valid ID for entry. No Dogs Allowed.

July 15, 2017  Annual Breastfest Beer Festival - Marin Center, San Rafael, California
One of Northern California's most prestigious tasting events. It is a day to help raise funds for non-profit health center, Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic, which supports economically challenged women in their fight against cancer.  Sample over 70 breweries, several cider houses and wineries.  Menu includes chili, BBQ ribs, salad, sanwiches, garlic fries, fried pickles, Three Twins Ice Cream, Pop Chips and more. July 29-30, 2017  55th Annual California Watermelon Festival - Lake View Terrace, California
Lake View Terrace at the Hansen Dam Soccer Complex in the San Fernando Valley. Free watermelon, delicious foods, carnival rides and attractions, games, contests, live entertainment, a Kids Zone, and the newest attraction – watermelon skiing! Hours are 10am to 10pm.  Step into carved-out watermelon halves and “melon ski” across a greased canvas to showcase their skills as the crowd cheers them on. Seed-spitting contest at the “Spitway,” or going for the gold in the watermelon relay are also among the options. The Long Beach Grand Cru is an international wine competition as well as a public food and wine tasting. It was created by the Long Beach office of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles to increase awareness and raise funds for legal services for low income people. The competition has grown in size and prestige, attracting wineries from around the world. The public wine tasting and culinary event attracts 1,200 - 1,400 guests
