Giles County is hosting a growing festival that is answering the question “Where’s the beef?” with Here’s the Beef.  What began as a county initiative to celebrate a high state rank in beef production has quickly grown into a regional and state celebration of agriculture as not only a business but also a lifestyle to live, support and respect.  The events cross three days and boast activities for businesses, families and students with a variety of interests.  Here’s the Beef is an agriculture pride brand that reaches much further than the borders of Giles County. Beef producers, farmers and even respectful consumers enjoy showing support for this great industry.

October 6-7, 2017  40th Annual Unicoi County Apple Festival
Erwin, Tennessee
This year’s festival includes over 350 arts and crafts vendors from around the country featuring painting, photography, wood-turning, sculpture, metal crafts, jewelry, blown glass and much more.  In addition, three food courts are located throughout the festival grounds so attendees may enjoy festival foods, beverages and specialty cuisine.  3 entertainment stages featuring live music perfectly complement the arts and crafts atmosphere.  A large children’s area complete with rides and activities is included in the festival for both the young and young-at heart.  A wide array of tournaments are featured including the NFS 4-Mile Race, Farm Bureau Tennis Tournament, Clinchfield Senior Adult Center Cornhole Tournament, Erwin Record Photography Contest, Chamber of Commerce Cooking Contest and Apple Dumpling Contest.  Attendance: 110,000.

October 15, 2011  Music City Chili Cook Off - Nashville, Tennessee
Competitors from across the Middle Tennessee area will be serving their chili for a chance to be crowned the winner.  There will be activities for all ages with live music  and a bounce house for the kids. Yazoo Brewing Company and Ole Smoky Moonshine are providing alcohol in our beer garden.Brother Z's Wangs and Red Rooster will be cooking up some wings and bbq plates, but save room for dessert since. Maggie's Mobile Slab will be there selling ice cream.
