The Ramp Festival is the oldest on-going festival in Tennessee, and every May, the festival celebrates the ramp, a vegetable of the lily family that looks like a little green onion, but, tastes like powerful garlic.

May 8, 2014  Gatlinburg Beans 'n Cornbread Blast! - Gatlinburg, Tenn
New for 2014! Gatlinburg celebrates its Appalachian culinary past with the Gatlinburg Beans 'n Cornbread Blast! presented by Bush Brothers Beans.  Downtown Gatlinburg will be transformed into a festive, fun-filled scene with games, foot-stompin' mountain bluegrass music and, of course, lots of Beans and Cornbread. Vendors will compete against each other with their special recipes and you get to help decide the winner! Compete to win in our first annual Corn Hole Tournament and at the same time help support our local Humane Society.  Bush Brothers Beans will be featured throughout the event. A small fee will allow participants to sample all the different recipes while supplies last. It will be a 'Rootin, Tootin, Good Time!'

May 15-18, 2014  Southern Food Writing Conference - Knoxville, Tenn.
The Southern Food Writing Conference celebrates the art and the craft of writing about food in the South.   Join our outstanding panel of speakers as we explore various facets of food in the South, from traditions of cookbooks and family recipes, to the connections of race, gender, income and the environment to the food traditions of the South.  You will interact with some of the legends of Southern food writing, and meet the next generation of the profession. Professionals from the worlds of newspapers, magazines, books and blogs will bring their perspectives on the current state of Southern food and those who write about it.   The conference is designed for both the writers and the readers of Southern food writing.  Food enthusiasts, professional journalists, food bloggers, as well as devotees of all things Southern will enjoy the two day program we have prepared for you.


May 15-18, 2014  International Biscuit Festival - Knoxville, Tennessee
An expanded schedule brings Biscuit Art and Food Network talent into the mix at the International Biscuit Festival in Knoxville.  The International Biscuit Festival is a celebration of that most perfect of foods – the Biscuit.  The Festival combines food, fun and entertainment to create a unique destination event.  Adding an extra day to the festivities, the International Biscuit Festival and Food Network present “An Evening with Tyler Florence” at the Tennessee Theatre on Sunday, May 18th at 8 pm.  Florence is the star of the Food Network’s top rated show The Great Food Truck Race.  Florence will take the stage at the Tennessee Theatre with a lively show that shares behind the scenes stories from his career in television. Attendance: 15,000.

May 16-18, 2013  World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest
Memphis, Tennessee
The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, the Granddaddy of Grilling...where on this given Saturday, it's anybody's game. Hundreds of teams compete for over $110,000 in prizes and supreme bragging rights. While grilling is the main theme, the contest wouldn't be complete without the Ms. Piggie Idol competition where grown men dress in tutus and snouts and women kick their heels (hooves) up. There is also a t-shirt competition and even a best booth contest.

May 30-June 1, 2013  National MooFest Dairy Festival - Athens, Tenn
Dairy recipe, mooing and other contests, two full days of entertainment and a street dance.

June 13-15, 2013  2013 TGCSA Annual Convention & Expo - Nashville, TN
Tennessee Grocers & Convenience Store Association is the only food trade association that represents all segments of Tennessee’s food market.

June 15, 2013  19th Annual RC and Moon Pie Festival - Bell Buckle, Tenn
A jam packed day of fun for the whole family awaits you. There is plenty of country and bluegrass music, clogging dancers, Moon Pie games, crafts, and the ever popular "Synchronized Wading Extravaganza". Cutting of the worlds largest Moon Pie rounds out the day.

June 21-22, 2013  Queen City Barbeque Cookoff - Clarksville, Tennessee
All proceeds of this Kansas City BBQ Society event benefit the Wounded Warrior Project whose mission it is "To raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members." We will be asking each team to host a wounded warrior as an honorary team member for the weekend.

June 21-22, 2013  Big BBQ Bash 2013 - Maryville, Tennessee
The 7th Annual Big BBQ Bash is Back!  Live music and a variety of food vendors sure to please all guests.  All Proceeds from this event benefit Helen Ross McNabb Center, serving the children, adults, and families of Knoxville and East Tennessee.

June 22, 2013  Taste of Music City - Nashville, Tennessee
Nashville's largest Food and Drink Festival is celebrating 11 years!  Tickets include food samples from some of Nashville’s best restaurants and an opportunity to taste some of the best beverages that call Music City home!

July 12, 2013  Oak Grove 64th Annual Fish Fry - Oak Grove, Tennessee

July 12-13, 2013  30th Annual Tomato Festival  - Ripley, Tennessee
Lauderdale County Tomato Festival.  Includes Carnival Rides, Petting Zoo, Games, Baby Crawling Contest, Food, General and Craft vendors, Live Music, Tomato Contest, Tomato Tasting, 5-K Run, Pageant and Tomato Farmer of the Year.

July 19-21, 2013  World Music and Food Festival 2013 - Nashville, Tenn
A multicultural festival that explores food and music from across the globe. Live music and dance entertainment from across the globe.

July 25-27, 2013  10th Annual Foothills Country Fair - Cleveland, Tenn
Events may include Concerts, Beauty Pageants, Cultural Arts Contests, 4-H Poultry Show, Antique Tractor Show, Lawn Mower Racing, Dog Show, Demolition Derby, Various Animal & Livestock Exhibits, Friday Night Concerts and more. All ages are welcome.  Back for 2013, the Backyard BBQ Bash (see separate listing).

July 26-27, 2013  Backyard BBQ Bash - Cleveland, Tennessee
The schedule includes both the Tennessee State Championship event, sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society, and the Amateur Backyard BBQ Bash, open to non-professional teams only.

July 27, 2013  Music City Brewer's Fest - Nashville, Tennessee
The 12th annual fest will be held at Music City Walk of Fame Park. Admission includes samples from the best local, regional, national, and import breweries in the world. Enjoy great music, "beer garb" costume contest, Beer 101 education tent and more.

July 27-28, 2013  Grainger County Tomato Festival - Rutledge, Tennessee
Always the last full weekend in July. Tomato and produce sales, three stages of entertainment, tractor show, living history area, art, children's activities and Tomato Wars. Attendance: 20,000.

August 10, 2013  Tomato Art Fest - East Nashville, Tennessee
The Tomato Art Fest has grown from a small neighborhood event into a festival with 20,000 in attendance. It is truly a family event where everyone is encouraged to come out and celebrate the beloved fruit/vegetable. Free & costume-friendly!
Attendance: 20,000.

August 23-24, 2013  5th Annual Music City Festival & BBQ Championship
Nashville, Tennessee
A full music line-up and over 100 BBQ cook teams competing for cash and prizes in a Tennessee State Champion event sanctioned by the Memphis BBQ Network and the Kansas City BBQ Society. Benefits local charities.

June 23, 2012  12th Annual Lynnville Blackberry Festival - Lynnville, Tenn
Street dance, vendors, games, and food including "the world's best blackberry pie"!

June 30, 2012  Le Bon Appetit - Memphis, Tennessee
Great Food for a Great Cause.  Presented by Le Bonheur Club, is a charity event benefiting Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, the regions only comprehensive pediatric medical facility. Cuisine for a Cause:  This extraordinary celebration of food and wine will be the most prestigious gourmet benefit in Memphis. On June 30, 2012, patrons will gather at the historic Columns to sample the finest delicacies prepared by 20 chefs from across the United states. To complement the chefs’ cuisine, and premium wines selected to compliment each dish will be featured at the event.  Guests will also have an opportunity to bid on fantastic one-of-a-kind items, many provided by the chefs themselves, in the silent auction and enjoy freshly rolled cigars in the Cigar Garden as well as a bourbon tasting held in the Columns’ stately Vault. Entertainment will be provided by one of the region’s finest vocalists and nationally renowned artist Susan Marshall.

Real Men Cook promotes male involvement, education, outreach and advocacy on food resources, healthy eating, healthcare and public policies on these issues. Takes place each year on Father's Day in cities across the U.S. A national movement-get involved!

This sanctioned competition will have teams from all over the Southeast US, a car show, kids' zone, crafters and vendors.

Parkers Crossroads, Tennessee

July 30-31, 2010  Grainger County Tomato Festival - Rutledge, Tennessee
Our mission is to promote all Grainger County agricultural products, specifically the Grainger County Tomato, and to promote the many local artists and craftsmen we have in our area. Over the years we have added a number of special events making the festival one of the largest free festivals in East Tennessee. The festival is always the last full weekend in July.    Attendance: 20,000.
