October 1-4, 2015  43rd Annual Greek Food Festival - Las Vegas, Nevada
Being Greek means relishing the world around you and enjoying life to its fullest. The Las Vegas Greek Food Festival gives us the opportunity to open our arms, our hearts, and our kitchens as we share our culture with you! So, what are you waiting for? Come on! Be Greek for a day.

October 3, 2015  Grapes & Hops Festival - Las Vegas, Nevada
Sample fine wines, a unique selection of beers and food from some of Las Vegas' finest restaurants—while helping to raise money for a good cause—at the Springs Preserve's annual Grapes & Hops Festival.  Kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, this charity event benefits Par for The Cure, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research.  Grapes & Hops will feature tastings of fine wines and unique beers, live music by The Ryan Whyte Maloney Trio with special guest Callie Tucker, and a silent auction. Several local restaurants will be on hand to offer free food samples from their menus.

26th Annual World Championship Outhouse Races
Virginia City, Nevada
The Races pit teams of costumed outhouse racers against each other. One person rides and the remaining team members push, pull or drag the decorated outhouses down the racetrack. This is great fun for the whole family! This event is free to the public and is quite the spectacle. So don't miss out!

October 5-9, 2015  Supply Side West - Las Vegas, Nevada
SupplySide West is the world’s largest event for innovative and healthy ingredients with 1,500+ booths and over 12,000 attendees.

October 10-11, 2015  Eldorado Great Italian Festival - Reno, Nevada
Eldorado Resort Casino.  The Eldorado Great Italian Festival transforms downtown Reno into Little Italy with a grape stomp, sauce cookers competition, wine walk, an Italian farmer’s market, kids’ gelato eating contest, Italian Buffet and incredible, free, live entertainment all weekend long.  A crowd favorite year after year continues to be the Great Italian Festival Sauce Cook-off. Italian families from across the West Coast bring their recipes to life right on the street for guests to taste.  There are plenty of offerings street side as well— traditional Italian fare including house-made pastas, deep fried raviolis, meatball and sausage sandwiches, garlic bread, grilled flatbread, the Eldorado’s famous mushroom ravioli and more.

National Beer Wholesalers Association Annual Convention is designed to provide valuable education programs and important networking opportunities for the beer industry. Education programs offered during the Convention feature speakers and seminars on a number of topics of importance to beer distributors.

October 12-18, 2015  4th Annual Reno Bites Restaurant Week
Reno, Nevada
Participating restaurants present one or more of the following: a Signature Item, or specialty price point for something they regularly offer; a three-course, prix fixe menu at a lower price point; a Signature Event which showcases an out-of-the-box menu, or something their chefs may excel at preparing.  Reno Bites Restaurant Week encourages northern Nevadans and visitors to explore and patronize locally owned restaurants.   It's a great excuse to treat your stomach to tasty cuisine.

ICS World's Championship Chili Cookoff
Reno, Nevada
Grand Sierra Resort.  It's the highlight of the year for teams, as well as thousands of "chiliheads" who follow the sport from coast-to-coast. All activities of the world championship will be at the resort and attendance is expected to be 10,000-50,000. The competition will be HOT as hundreds of competitive chili cooks from across the United States and Canada vie to be crowned World's Best Chili Cook. Competitors represent winners of district, regional and state cookoffs throughout the year and is sanctioned by the ICS.   They will be competing in four categories:  traditional red chili, chili verde, salsa and homestyle chili  This event is open to the public and there will be plenty to see, do and taste! Head down to GSR and enjoy the best in live Reno entertainment, local and regional craft vendors and taste the worlds best chili.

Las Vegas, Nevada

October 4 & 18, 2014  Harvest Festival - Reno, Nevada
As part of our behavioral enrichment program, most of the animals will receive pumpkins filled with their favorite treats. Watch the enjoyment experienced by our predators when presented with these unique and delicious meals. Throughout the day, pumpkins will be delivered to different animals. Come spend the day; bring the camcorder…..this is animal viewing at its finest! We will also offer pumpkin painting for kids.

October 24-26, 2014  ICS World's Championsihp Chili Cookoff
Las Vegas, Nevada
The ICS is the official organization that sanctions chili cookoffs. These events are worldwide and benefit charities or nonprofit organizations. All winners of ICS sanctioned cookoffs qualify to compete for cash prizes and awards at the World's Championship Chili Cookoff. The ICS is the largest food contest, festival organization in the world. Our sole purpose is to promote, develop and improve the preparation and appreciation of true chili and to determine each year the World's Champion Chili through officially sanctioned and regulated competitive cookoffs.

6th Annual $110,000 USA Barbecue Championship - Laughlin, Nevada
Considered the largest contest in the state with a guaranteed purse of $110,000 in cash and prizes, the USA Grand Champion will win a fully loaded, 2015 Chevrolet Camaro valued at over $50,000, which includes all fees and taxes paid. If the Camaro is not to your liking, Findlay Motor Company will have a sports utility vehicle, truck and car of equal value to choose from. October 7, 2012  32nd Annual Lagun Onak Basque Food Festival
Henderson, Nevada
Admission is Free. Celebrations will include; Gauden Bat – Chino, CA folk dancers, Basque musical group, Aitor Narvaiza will perform weight exhibitions, weight carrying as well as weight carrying contests. Typical Basque foods and beverages will be available for purchase, which will include; Paella, Lamb, Chorizo (Basque Sausage), salad, desert as well as Sangria, beer, wine and refreshments.
