Virginia City Rodeo & Fiesta Del Charro

It’s a rodeo filled with your favorite events and a whole lot of the unexpected. Don your boots and cowboy hats for two-days of rodeo, including a long-horn cattle drive down C Street, a mutton busting tournament and the Fiesta Del Charro, a Mexican rodeo.

Sparks, Nevada
The annual event will once again transform Victorian Square in downtown Sparks into a must-attend culinary, music, craft, and family end-of-summer affair.

September 7-9, 2018  59th Annual International Camel & Ostrich Races
Virginia City, Nevada
It all started with a tall tale from a newspaper man! And here we are 55 years later and still living up to the legend. Come and see these extraordinary animals race. Each day races start at High Noon and gates open at 10 a.m. While you're in town, enjoy some other great family activities in and around Virginia City. Great food and drinks will be along for the ride.

Grapes & Hops Festival
Las Vegas, Nevada
Sample fine wines, a unique selection of beers and food from some of Las Vegas' finest restaurants—while helping to raise money for a good cause—at the Springs Preserve's annual Grapes & Hops Festival.  Kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, this charity event benefits Par for The Cure, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research.  Grapes & Hops will feature tastings of fine wines and unique beers, live music, and a silent auction. Several local restaurants will be on hand to offer free food samples from their menus.

September 29-30, 2018  Annual Genoa Candy Dance - Genoa, Nevada
The Candy Dance originated in 1919 to purchase street lights for the small settlement of Genoa. A dance was held where candy was served by the ladies of the community. An art fair was added in the 1970's. The dance and candy making tradition continues and draws thousands to the town each year.

Springs Preserve.  We're celebrating Asian heritage with delicious food, a children's lantern parade, traditional musical and dance performances, karaoke, origami activities and more!

August 18-19, 2012  Overland Hotel’s Chili Cook-Off - Fallon, Nevada
Sanctioned by the International Chili Society, this cook-off pits salsa and chili cooks against the world’s best for prize money and braggin’ rights.This is an annual open entry Chili Cook-off beginning at 9:00 .am. Prize money and trophies awarded, the community judges.

Sept 15-18, 2011  Walker River Paiute Tribe Annual Pinenut Festival
Schurz, Nevada
The festival features the best singers and beautiful songs of the Pinenut Blessing Ceremony. A full weekend of activities for everyone: Talent Show, Pow Wow, Fun Run, Kid's Games,  Parade, Horseshoe Contests, Arm Wrestling, Stick Games, Cradleboard Contest, and an All Indian Rodeo.
