October 6, 2011 Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce Expo & Culinary Competition
Lauderhill, Florida
Broward County Technical Schools - Sheridan, McFatter and Atlantic will compete during the 8th Annual Business Expo.  Students will receive common ingredients and must incorporate additional items from a "mystery basket" in their dishes.  The theme is "South Florida Flavors".  Admission to the event is FREE.

October 7-9, 2011  Franklin County Oyster Festival 2011 - St. George Island, Florida
The St. George Island Business Association has cancelled the 2012 Franklin County Oyster Festival due to the uncertainty of having enough of our oysters available at the time of the festival.  We wish to back the efforts of the Franklin County Seafood Workers Association to gain support from the State of Florida for studies of the Apalachicola Bay in order to bring it back to its previous production levels.
