The 4th Annual 30A Wine Festival returns to the beautiful surroundings of Alys Beach, and is a showcase of premiere wine producers and local culinary favorites. This newly expanded three-day event features a Friday night gathering, "Bourbon, Beer, and Butts", Saturday wine tasting seminars, a walkabout and grand tasting, band party at nightfall, and Sunday's exclusive event, "Fruits de Mer & Sancerre" complete with croquet tournament (appropriate croquet attire encouraged). Weekend tickets are $300 per person and proceeds from the event benefit Children's Volunteer Health Network.

The St George Island Regional Chili Cook off will take place Saturday, March 7. Friday, the Auction Art Preview is in the evening from 5 - 7 at the island's firehouse (324 E. Pine Ave.). Saturday includes the 5K Red Pepper Run at 8:00 am, Crock Pot Judging 10-11:00 am, the Auction begins at 11:00, booth showmanship judging is at 11:30 - 12:15pm Miss Chili Pepper and Miss Hot Sauce judging at 12:15pm, taste awards 3:30pm. Head to the center of the island for all of Saturday’s events. There is a $5 entry fee. Proceeds benefit the St. George Island Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders.

This premier chili competition is sanctioned by the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI). Since its inception, CASI has sanctioned thousands of Cook-offs and has raised millions of dollars for charities — and this tradition continues here in Orlando. The Orlando Chili Cook Off, which began as a small gathering of friends and chili-lovers, has now become a regional event attracting cooks and attendees throughout Central Florida and the southeastern states. Teams can win trophies and prizes for the best CASI chili or the best open chili categories. Also, a best-in-showmanship award will be presented for the most entertaining chili team.

The Speckled Perch Festival is the oldest celebration in Okeechobee, dating back to 1965. At that time the festival honored the fishing industry with a parade and fish fry in the park during the height of the tourist season and the tradition continues today.
