We are celebrating the 74th annual Fair and each year we strive to provide good ol' fashioned fun with some unique experiences mixed in.  If you've never been to the Hardee County Fair, you've been missing out! Our Fair, first and foremost, is all about the kids. We offer a range of livestock exhibitions, pageants, arts & crafts competitions and we added a Citrus program in 2014.  Of course we also feature a thrilling midway provided by Arnold Amusements, along with all the Fair food you can handle.

February 21-22, 2015  LaBelle Swamp Cabbage Festival - LaBelle, Florida
For 48 years LaBelle has been celebrating swamp cabbage with a down-home festival. Sample dishes made with swamp cabbage (also known as hearts of palm), which comes from the state tree, the sabal or cabbage palm. The event includes a parade, motorcycle & car shows, entertainment, a carnival, a 5-K run, a bass tournament, a rodeo, and the "Grasscar" lawnmower race.

February 21-22, 2015  Downtown Food & Wine Fest - Orlando, Florida
The tradition continues as more than 20,000 foodies and wine lovers experience unique local cuisine paired with wines from around the globe.  Located in the heart of downtown Orlando at Lake Eola on Robinson Street, the two-day Fest features mouth-watering dishes from 40 of Orlando’s premier restaurants, domestic and international wines, and live entertainment.

'Gourds American Style'   A group of Floridians interested in growing and crafting gourds got together and formed the Florida Gourd Society, Inc. Actually, we're the Lambda Chapter of the American Gourd Society - one of twenty-three such state chapters in the U.S. having the common goal of enjoying and promoting gourding as a hobby.

February 27-March 8, 2015  Central Florida Fair 2015 - Orlando, Florida
Founded in 1910 by a group of community leaders who sought an outlet to celebrate the agricultural industry in Orlando and its surrounding counties. With an average annual attendance of 250,000, the Central Florida Fair successfully continues its mission to preserve and enhance the agricultural, cultural, educational, and historical legacy of Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, Brevard, and Volusia Counties, known collectively as “Central Florida.” One of the top five largest fairs in the state.  Creative Arts; Food Arts & Sciences – a feast of baked goods, canned fruits, decorated cakes, and decorative touches for the home, plus dozens of daily chef demonstrations on a state-of-the-art kitchen stage; Horticulture – lush displays of flowers and foliage, plus information on gardening, water conservation, landscaping, and more; FFA – local middle and high school chapters present educational booths on landscaping, animal husbandry, veterinary care, and more; 4-H – this leadership-building organization presents a year’s worth of youth activities in informative booths and creative contests; Livestock – featuring over 2,000 cows, horses, sheep, hogs, goats, chickens, and rabbits; Entertainment – over 100 groups featuring 800 singers, dancers and musicians on three stages.

February 28, 2015  1st Annual Chili Cook-Off & Classic Car Show
Lake City, Florida
If you are a business, civic organization, law enforcement, or just a group of friends, get your team together, along with your best chili recipe and join us to compete for the best chili in town.  Each 10' x 10' space is $10.00 (additional $5.00 if electricity is required).  Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Other awards will be given for best decorated tent/space, most unusual chili, and craziest dressed team.  Also a trophy will be awarded for the People's Choice Award.  Admission for the public is $5.00 for a wristband and a spoon for unlimited sampling of chili.  Hot dos, chips, sodas/water will be available PLUS $1.00 draft beer.  Presented by:  American Legion Riders-Post 57.

Deerfield Beach, Florida
A Bar-B-Q competition that includes Backyard & Professional Cookers. Categories are Chicken, Ribs, Brisket and Pork. Judges determine the winner in each category but everyone attending has the opportunity to sample each cookers’ entries and vote for the People’s Choice Winner. SingOut@PigOut spotlights singing talent from Deerfield public and private schools competing for prizes and trophies from 10:30am to Noon. Live bands entertain throughout the day, A Kid’s Corner with face painting, balloon twister and bounce house keep the children entertained. Adult & soft drinks and water available for purchase, Vendors will be exhibiting their products throughout the day.

Grant, Florida
Free admission, free parking, over 100 crafters exhibiting, live continuous entertainment, along with a scrumptious menu of succulent seafood makes this a weekend no one wants to miss. What sets this seafood festival apart from others is that it runs through a 100% volunteer effort! All preparation , whether it be on the grounds or with the purchasing, cooking or serving of the various menu items is accomplished by volunteers of the community. We do not have any food vendors on site. All booths are run with volunteers: many booths are made up of family members, often times having several generations working along side one another. It is this complete volunteer effort that makes our festival unique. The total commitment of our community and all our volunteers makes the Grant Seafood Festival a time honored tradition unlike any other. We are proud of our community and our festival is a testament to that fact.

February 23, 2014  A Celebration of Wine - Gainesville, Florida
Savor the flavor of wines from around the world as Florida's 89.1 WUFT-FM and 90.1 WJUF-FM present the 25th annual wine tasting and auction to benefit public radio in North Central and Mid Florida.  This fundraising event features 300 wines for tasting and culinary treats, desserts, and specialty coffees.  A silent auction runs through the wine tasting and the live auction begins at 3:30 p.m.  The auction features a wide variety of treasures including wine, winery items, wine related art, trips, gift certificates and other collectibles. The event is appealing to both wine enthusiasts and novices. Winery representatives are on hand to discuss the finer points of the various offerings.

A competition judged by attendees; with over 30 different traditional Finnish dishes, appetizers and soups, entrees, and desserts and breads.  This highly successful event has become a highlight of the annual Finlandia Days Festival.  Over the years it has brought together more and more people who enjoy great tasting food, including both locals and tourists.
